A New Challenge at Time Out – #96 – CASEing Michele Ferguson!

Hello … bonjour!  Another fabulous new challenge starts today at Time Out … this fortnight, our theme is CASE The Designer … and our designer is my lovely friend, the ultra talented and delightful Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone. Michele’s deliciously CAS card is below … here’s my take on it …

Time Outand here’s Michele‘s crisp, gorgeous original …

I was taken with the yummy greens, the camouflaged die cut sentiment and all that glorious white space, so focused on those.  My Christmas trees are from Essentials by Ellen (Rustic Botanicals)  and were stamped in three shades of green across the card front.  The sentiment, MFT’s Merry Christmas, was cut into them and into craft foam … they were adhered together and pieced back into place after the inside of the card front had been lined.  I finished off with some Spectrum Noir Shimmer on the sentiment … and a single teeny red star gem on the top of just one tree, as a nod to Michele’s yellow enamel dots.  The shimmer on the sentiment is a little more visible here …

Voilà … quick, clean, simple.  It’s a good design for multiples (especially with a MISTI!) … I may make more in different shades … those funky trees could take some contemporary Christmas colours I think!

Where will Michele‘s card take your creative imagination … to the CASness, colours and die cut, as it did me … to the stencilling, florals, ombré background … or to something else?  Whatever takes your eye, we’d love for you to play along!  This fortnight, we’re sponsored by Happy Little Stampers (thanks so much, Kylie) … our overall winner (as voted for by the DT) will receive a $15 GC … and will also be invited to design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with a whole heap of splendid ideas from our wonderful DT … and from our Guest Designer, another lovely friend, the super talented and fabulous Bobby from Bits & Pieces.  I’m certain you’ve already met and visited both Bobby and Michele … and have enjoyed numerous meanderings around all the gorgeousness on offer at their blogs.  Why not pop over to see them and enjoy another one … and leave them some love while you’re there!

I’m playing along at …

Perfect stamping Anita and here’s to the Misti. Gorgeous tones of the graduating greens and the sentiment is perfectly placed. Seven gorgeous contemporary green trees and how lucky that the die cut sentiment was the perfect size!!! Your pop of the tiny red star is CAS perfection. Love the texture of the white card too. Yes your design would look amazing too in different colours….look forward to seeing them x

Beautiful work, Anita! How fun that you got to CASE Michele. She is so fun. Her design looks like a great one. And your version is wonderful. Love those pretty trees and the tiny pop of red! How terrific that your die sentiment fit perfectly. This would look neat in different colors, I think, but those luscious greens work wonderfully. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂 Hugs!

Michele is indeed a talented and delightful person! I love your take on her card Anita. Those leaves are so pretty and I love how your sentiment runs across them as a “hidden” message. Perfect and perfectly delightful! Hugs, Brenda

Hey, darlin’. This is a gorgeous take on Michele’s card! I love your sweet row of Christmas trees all dressed in their various shades of greens. Since I do love the camouflaged sentiment look, I just might have to see what’s in my stash and play along. This is a soft and lovely look. Em soon, I promise! Sending hugs your way. xoxo

Simple, elegant design..very crisp, but still pretty. Love the embossed greeting too, nice way to include it, but keep it on the minimal side. Wishing you a happy day.

Aw, you’re so sweet with your kind words, Anita. It was my pleasure and honor to be a guest designer on Time Out, especially when I could CASE Michele’s card. Your CASE if wonderful. I love the technique done in a landscape format with those funky Christmas trees. See you again next week for a reminder.

Stunning CASE, Anita! I love how you took so many elements from Anita’s card and still managed to make the design completely your own. Very beautiful card!

Once again, I’m enamored of your clean, clear and fabulous eye for design. Every time I see one of your cards are heave a huge sigh. It’s as though you’ve taken all the air out of me (most times, that’s a good thing). This is one of those soothing cards, lots to look at and, yet, calming and serene. Spectacular job CASEing Michele (always a worthy occupation).

Love how you were inspired by Michele’s card! You pulled out all the elements that I loved most. And your tiny little start above the single tree (so clever to use this stamp this way) is brilliant. PS I’ve decided you would be the best card connoisseur…you leave the most wonderful, descriptive comments on my blog and always make me feel like my cards are better than they really are. I love reading your comments. 🙂

Such a lovely & modern design on the inspiration card. Love the brilliant yellow greens & slanted design. Your CAS of this card is just as lovely, and I especially like the line of variegated trees. The dimensional sentiment looks fantastic and liked the way you’ve carried out the theme of the enameled dot with your own tree topper! Well done. TFS & Hugs

Vraiment superbe ! Bises

This is so you!!!! Love those ombre trees and the “hidden” sentiment. You made this totally into a card of your own. I got inspired right away and made a card – will show on the 16th – hopefully the linky will still be open….

Sorry I’m so late visiting, Anita! I’m so far behind I ran into myself at the bakery yesterday. No wonder I have broad hips; I had no recollection of already being there! Wait. What am I doing? Oh, yes. Seriously. Now settle down and listen. I adore this card!! I know, I adore them all, but I am a total freak for anything leaf or tree so this completely stole my heart because of that and because of the incredible shades of green and the sweet CASliciousness of the design! LYAMYMA! CWTSYNY!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
