Guest Designing at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – November 2017 – Week 4

         wed-designerspotlight-header

Hello … bonjour!  I’m delighted to be back today, for my fourth week Guest Designing with the talented Simon Says Stamp Wednesday team … thanks so much for your lovely comments on last week’s critter cards!   wed-newchallenge-header50dollar_voucher_600px          Simon Says Stamp

Our new challenge this week is ‘Food and/or Drink‘ … and we’re showcasing products from Mama Elephant.  You don’t need to use Mama Elephant goodies to join in … but we’d love to see them if you have some!  As always, if you play along, you’re in with a chance of winning a $50 gift voucher to spend at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp store … imagine moving those goodies from wish list to basket!

After saying last week that I don’t make many cards with critters on them … here I am with another couple … it just so happens they come bearing gifts … of a sort!  Here’s the first, a fun little goat, his beard all brushed for the party, carrying the birthday cupcake …

An MFT wonky stitched panel, cut with Mama Elephant Inline Letters dies and stamped with the party goat from Simon’s Birthday Farm Animals.  He’s coloured with Promarkers, has Glossy Accent/Enamel Accent eyes and his cupcake has shimmery frosting, courtesy of Wink of Stella.  The base was ombré sponged with Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks and water sprinkled, before the panel was popped up on foam tape over it.

So, the food/drink was obvious on that one … are you wondering where it on this next one?

… keep reading if you haven’t guessed already!  Here’s a dotted die cut frame (Gina Marie Designs, thanks to sweet Michele), backed with black and adhered flat to the base, with a bunny from Mama Elephant’s Up and Away set (a Lake House goodie) sitting in the corner.  He was coloured with Promarkers and liberally covered with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle … and is holding onto a die cut pastel rainbow smooshed Painted Hello from Simon Says Stamp, popped up on black craft foam.  I finished off with the stamped sentiment from Winnie & Walter (Sentimental:Endearments).

So what did you guess was the food/drink?  Surely not that cute little rabbit … or hare?  What about the sorbet colours in the sentiment?  Nope, neither of those … it’s that tiny stamped sentiment … after all, most of us have munched our way through a sweetie or two in our time!  You didn’t really think I’d be calling that sweet bunny food did you???

If you haven’t been there already, do pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog to check out all the scrumptious food/drink cards from the Design Team … you’re sure to come away wanting to create!  I do hope you’ll have chance to join us this week.

Finally for today, to all of you gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wish you a blessed day, filled with love, gratitude, family and friends!  Thanks so much, as ever, for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!    Anita 🙂

Oh, the genius of your mind. For someone who doesn’t do a lot of critters, you sure displayed the animal kingdom to it’s best advantage. Both cards have your signature elegance with a heap of fun thrown in to make them happy. No, I didn’t get the Food/Drink reference on the second card (was hoping against hope it wasn’t the bunny) but I certainly do now. It doesn’t matter because both cards are simply delightful.
Yes, there will be lots of sweets around the Thanksgiving table tomorrow. Don’t know what you’ll be doing, but whatever it is, my wish is for a day full of love, wonder, and deliciousness for you and yours on Thursday.

Must admit I was thinking “lapin”, having seen them all skinned and lying in butchers’ meat cases at markets in Frankreich! But glad it’s not him. But I had to tell you how amazingly cool and effective that dotted frame is! Gorgeous.

you had me there! Had to hunt for the food and drink on the second-super creative idea and shows so many people a good angle to hit this challenge, if they don’t have any suitable stamps….that’s you-a creative genius! Adorable cards-love the sorbet colours on the second x

Oh goodness, I am so loving these critter “food/drink” cards Anita! That goat just cracks me up with the cupcake on his head and he sits so great in that corner of the die cut letters. Love it! Now your second card is just the sweetest. Who can resist a sweet little bunny?! Although Savannah would love to make a meal out of it-bad Savannah! lol I love that little bunny but more than that, I love how clever you were with this card! Hugs, Brenda

Great cards for the theme! That first looks more masculine, although your colouring looks perfect! And that 2nd; who would eat that bunny? No I think that sentiment is raffine! Hugs, Gerrina

Ah, you should do critters more often, Anita! They can play with all of mine and you do them as well as you do flowers or, well, anything else! These are both spectacular in design and color and fun!! You had me going for a second about eating the bunny!!! LYAMYMAAWYALW!! Hugs, Darnell

These cards are both fabulous, Anita! Love the super-cute goatie with his goatee, and I have to admit, I was fearing for the little bunny, but what a great twist to the theme!

You are rocking the critters, Anita! Both cards are super cute! The fun goat looks really excited for the party and that adorable bunny in the dotted frame holding the pastel word – oh my, you have outdone yourself! It never crossed my mind that the bunny would be the food, I just knew that “sweetie” was the twist! 😉

Bises

Your critter cards are so cute, Anita. I love the goofy look on the cross-eyed goats face. The sentiment with the bunny could have been cotton candy in my opinion.

Looks like you have been having so much fun with all those SSS goodies – I think you should stamp with critters more often! Your cute goat is placed perfectly with the die cut sentiment and I love how you’ve used the ME rabbit in the second!
