A New Challenge At Time Out – #98 Home Sweet Home – Stockings Are Hung …

Hello … bonjour!  Our wonderful new challenge starts at Time Out this morning … this fortnight, we have a Home Sweet Home photo to inspire you that’s fresh and festive with a touch of rustic (below) … here’s where I went with it …

Time Out

… and here’s the scrumptious photo inspiration …

These were perfect for our family's Christmas stockings since we don't have a fireplace! https://www.etsy.com/listing/244801883/christmas-stocking-holders-set-of-4:

Those stockings just waiting for Santa to fill them really took my eye … and my mantel is a nod to those yummy wooden hook plates.  The images are from Neat and Tangled (Elves & Their Shelf), stamped and coloured with Zigs … with some gel pen doodling for the patterns on the stockings.  The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter (In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans) and the dotted frame was embossed with a Lawn Fawn border die.  I used a Versamark pen to colour in the stocking tops and heat embossed them with Hero Arts White Puff EP.  Want to see all that fluffiness …

What takes your attention in our Home Sweet Home photo … the traditional Christmas colours, those patterns, the white on wood designs, that hint of rustic … or something else?  Whichever way you’re inspired, we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  Our winner, as chosen by the DT, will receive a £15 gift voucher from our lovely sponsor, Uniko (thanks, Bev!), and will have the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a whole host of enticing ideas from our fabulous DT and from our awesomely talented Guest Designer (and ex teamie), Sarah from Funky Fossil Designs.  If you haven’t come across Sarah’s delicious creations, do go over for a visit and enjoy her brilliantly crisp, CAS and inspiring cards … and even if you have, why not pop over and say hello … you’ll have a fabulous time!

Now I know what you meant in your message, Anita!!! How apropos is this???
Well you’ve used a darling little stamp – it brings me back to happy days of childhood – with 9 home-made stockings hung from our mantle!
What a darling card, mon amie! LOve the puffy, fluffy stocking tops!
Christmas cards are now all made, and sent!! [yours sealed with an extra kiss for a quick travel!] A little casual playtime is just what I need today!

I love your take on the inspirational photo Anita! That photo is so beautiful and I can see why your eye was drawn to the stockings, they are beautiful and yours are too! I wish I had a mantel to display stockings on, I love mantels and fireplaces so much. You have achieved the “rustic” look in my eye, which I so love the rustic look anyway. Those stockings are so fun and festive and I love how you made the “cuff” all “fuzzy” looking. Well done! Hugs, Brenda

Those stocking are darling, Anita. Something I would hang on my fireplace – if I had a fireplace. I need to get some of that Puff ep. You’re the second person I’ve seen use it and it looks like fun. Better than my Snowmarker pen that’s not at all white and runs all over the place.

Oh dear, you have captured the essence of the inspiration photo perfectly. My favorite parts are the sentiment and all that doodle-y detail you added. Of course, being a designing professional didn’t hinder you at all. Always a pleasure to see where your mind goes with these challenges. Joyeux Noel, my precious friend.

This is CAS perfection, Anita! I absolutely love this one layer design, the stamps you used look amazing (what a perfect set for this inspiration photo!) and I love your coloring -especially the doodling. Great work! Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!

Mille bises xx

Awesome card with all those little stockings! Thank you so much for your wonderful Christmas card – such a beauty! I had to laugh about your little insert. Those bureaucrats – they really have nothing better to do. But if you think about what is going on in my country I would prefer this 100 times over what the current government is doing to the US. One major nightmare after the other. It never seems to end and only get worse. There is something seriously wrong here. So keep that in mind every time you have to add your new little street name. You could be in the US and have to watch the dismantling of democracy and destruction of any social network there is. And there was not much to start out here in the first place. Human worth here is counted out in money. A sad state of affairs. I could go on here for several pages, but I will spare you my rant…. Happy Holidays, Anita and than you so much for your kindness. Hugs, Cornelia
