A New Challenge at Time Out – #102 – Home Sweet Home Inspiration!

Hello … bonjour!  We have a delicious Home Sweet Home photograph to inspire you to join us at Time Out this fortnight … it’s a little further down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out… and here’s the dramatic, glitzy inspiration photo …

There wasn’t one single element that pulled me in this time … I was taken with the whole picture … colours, shimmer, hearts, stripes … only the wooden floor didn’t make it into the design!  My almost one layer card was stamped and heat embossed with an oversized you and additional sentiment from SSS (You Matter), which was underlined with a couple of strips of washi tape.  The heart (SSS) was die cut out of the card front and splattered with Delicata Gold ink … I cut another heart from fun foam, edged it with the same ink … and left everything to dry (it took a while!).  The parts of the embossed sentiment on the die cut resisted the splatters and they were wiped off with a damp paint brush when it was all dry.  The two hearts were adhered together, popped back into the card (which had been lined) … and I finished with a scattering of sequins accented with Enamel Accents.  Here’s a closer look at that gold edging …

What grabs your attention in our Home Sweet Home photo … one particular element … the sparkle … the colours … the overall grouping … or something else?  Whichever way you’re inspired, we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  Our winner, as chosen by the DT, will receive a £15 gift voucher from our fabulous sponsor, STAMPlorations (thanks, Shery!) and will have the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  In addition, a random winner will win a prize pack of either stamps or dies from STAMPlorations!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a heap of brilliant ideas from our fabulous DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Trina from My Crafting Closet.  If you haven’t come across Trina (what?!), do go over for a visit and enjoy a meader around all the deliciousness there … and even if you have, why not pop over and say hello!

I’m playing along at …

While in London [my one and only time!] my daughter and I met some of her business friends in a restaurant – no clue which – the lobby was filled with stools to sit on SHAPED like GOLD TEETH!! now what does that have to do with anything? OH! I much prefer this wonderful striped bench!
    A fabulous card, my friend!

WOW ! Superbe ! Mais comment fais-tu ? J’admire ta créativité car tu réponds toujours au challenge avec énormément de détails mais toujours avec autant de simplicité (CAS)! Comment veux-tu qu’on y arrive, nous, après ! I’m kidding (or no?) ! Bises & Hugs. xx

YOU are amazing and so is your card! It amazes me how you always manage to keep you cards clean and simple even if there are so many elements in an inspiration photo! Totally blown away by your take on this photo!

Edging your foam really highlights the spattered heart, Anita, and the washi adds the other elements in an underscoring way (pun intended). Wonderful interpretation of the photo.

What an absolutely great design and I love how you pulled inspiration from the photo and translated that into a card layout. I like how you used that big bold YOU that is a piece of art in itself and then embellished it with the stripes and blingy elements. This is a classic card that would be loved by a variety of recipients! Thank you for taking the time to share your work with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

You didn’t need to include the wooden floor, Anita! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love how you splattered and raised up the heart and your strips of sparkly gold and B&W stripes are just perfect! Such a beautiful CAS card and I love how you were able to combine it with other challenges…Brilliant!
