Twofer Card Challenge #2

Hello … bonjour!  It’s time to get excited all over again … our next Twofer Card Challenge starts right now!  Thanks to your ingenuity and creativity, our first gallery was chock full of fabulous cards showcasing two different designs … for two different occasions … using the same stamps and/or dies.  How about stretching those creative muscles again this month?  This time round, our word prompt is …       Here’s where I went with my Twofer …

The thing that these two CAS cards have in common is the Concord & 9th die cut heart … all the other elements are distinctly different.  Here’s a closer look at each one …

Here, I made the hearts into delicate flowers … using just the outline cuts turned upside down and adhered along the centre line to a kraft card base.  They’re folded up a little to add interest and dimension.  The stems are made from very slender strips of cardstock, attached flat to the base.  I white heat embossed a birthday sentiment from Winnie & Walter … and added a drift of enamel accent dots to mimic seed heads floating in a summer breeze.

My Twofer …

This time I used a series of whole hearts in my design.  They were cut from a piece of card that had been rainbow watercoloured with Distress Inks … and were adhered flat to a panel of black cardstock in a graphic pattern.  The Sending Hugs sentiment was made up of two dies from SSS and I added a Lucy’s Little Gem to each heart (to match the background colour).  The panel was trimmed down and popped up on craft foam onto a white card base … the white border ties the white sentiment into the design.

Voilà … my two distinctly different designs … for two distinctly different occasions … using the same die!

So … will you let your creative imagination run wild with ‘Hearts’?  We’d love to see your two distinctly different cards … for two distinctly different occasions … using the same stamps/dies … in our gallery!  All the information you need, including timescales, guidelines, rules and FAQs,  along with loads of fantastic inspiration from the wonderful DT … is over at the Twofer blog … it’s just a click away!  Hope you can join us!

Love the seed heads floating on your first fabulous card, with great movement and also dimension with the white flower die cut. Love the white with the kraft. Such a delicate ‘flower’ head die cut that looks so pretty and such a great way of using the ‘normal’ leaf idea….fabulous x Eye catching second card…Those blended leafs looks wonderful on the dark card stock and adding further interest to keep the die cut in place for an embossing effect. Yes the white die cut sentiment and white bottom edge ties in your beautiful card. Thank you Anita for the creative and wonderful inspiration x.

Beautiful cards, Anita! I really like the use of the hearts as flowers. They are lovely. And the addition of the dots as seed heads floating in the breeze is wonderful. Adore the colors against the dark background on the twofer. They just pop so nicely. Great design there! Beautiful work!

So darn clever! “Regular” hearts, then flowers…oh so brilliant! Those little heart dies are delicate and lovely, either as flowers, or as themselves. The white on kraft card is CASimply stunning, and I do so love the delicately colored rainbow you’ve created for your Valentine. Using a black base really makes them pop! Two amazing cards, my friend!! I just got that W&W sentiment set, too…can’t wait to pull it out! Sending many hugs. xo

Tis the Season for Hearts … I love that you’ve taken that darling little leaf die from C&9th and made it into the most wonderful heart – be still MY heart – the white on kraft: exquisite!
You’ve spent eons putting those little tiddles back into place for your rainbow, Anita! I appreciate every moment… so pretty!
Now to find a moment to play… that’s my wish on your floating seeds…

You rocked this challenge again, Anita, starting with the use heart shaped leaves! They look so delicate and pretty as flowers using only the outlines on the neutral colored birthday card and your “scattering of seeds” is a sweet finishing touch!
The rainbow colored hearts are so bright and fun and truly stand out on the black! The little gems match the colors perfectly adds a little something!
Such different designs but both breathtaking!

I predict that your Twofer will be in the winning galleries of the challenges you entered, Anita! They are both breathtaking! Your faux flowers made from the heart die are ethereal and divine and the “seed heads” floating in the air add so much interest – truly inspired!! I love the kraft card base, too. Your twofer design is so glamorous! Using a black panel makes your sediment and beautifully colored rainbow hearts really pop! I love the matching embellies and how you cut your black panel to leave a white border! I learn design elements from you every.single.time!! And I don’t say it often enough, thank you for that!! So creative and fun Anita!! Love how you’ve used this beautiful heart die to create your two flowers. The kraft with white is perfect for this organic design with the blowing seeds! Your rainbow hearts really pop off the black background … gorgeous!! Love the details of the sweet gems. Great design with having the white strip on the bottom to tie in the white sentiment. Amazing designs for both cards, Anita!! xx

Decidedly different indeed, Anita. The lacy heart flowers are softly wafting through the dots and the brightly colored hearts pop off the black. This is the second time I’ve seen those die cuts combined for a sentiment and I’m going to have to remember to do the same.

Can I just say WOW! You are really rocking this Twofer DT assignment. Every time I see a new one I gasp with delight. And these two are no exception. That kraft card is the perfect background for that delicate white heart. It’s the best of all world, rugged kraft with elegant, lacy white. Stunning. But I’m not done extolling your virtues. Nor were you done outdoing yourself. The blended colors and dramatic black and white of the second card is simply swoon worthy. Who could top this with their entry…not me. So I’ll simply bask in the beauty of yours.
