A New Challenge At Time Out – #105 – It’s Our Birthday!

Hello … bonjour!  It’s a very special day for us today at Time Out … it’s our 4th birthday!  Huge congratulations to Sandie and the whole Design Team … may there be many more happy years of being inspired together ahead!  We’re celebrating with a most appropriate and fun ‘Inspired By Words’ challenge … birthdays are full of sunshine, love and laughter … here’s my take on it … Time OutOver the last week or so, all the blossom trees round about us have suddenly come into flower … and they provided the inspiration for my almost one layer card.  It’s stamped with images from Concord & 9th’s Beautiful Branches … I double stamped the blossoms … in light pink all over and in dark pink around the centres, not being too precise so as to mimic the style of the image.  The ‘because’ sentiment (Concord & 9th’s Just Because) was die cut, coloured to match the branches and triple stacked before being adhered to the card … and I stamped the tiny secondary sentiments (from SSS) around it in the same dark pink as the blossom centres.  I finished off with some dots of white gel pen on the stamens and a scattering of Lucy’s Little Gems around the sentiment.

Where will our words take your creative imagination?  You can use any or all of them to inspire your card … we’d love if it you joined in our celebration!  We’re sponsored by Concord & 9th this time round, thanks to Angie and Greg  … our overall winner (as voted for by the DT) will receive a $25 GC … and will also be invited to design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with a heaps of lovely inspiration from our fabulous DT … as well as from our super talented and returning Guest Designer, the lovely Claire from Life On The Scrap Heap.   You probably know Claire already … if not, you should!  Why not pop over for a visit and enjoy a wonderful meander through all the deliciousness on offer over at her blog … you could say hello while you’re there too!  Oh, and one final thing … if you head over to the Concord & 9th blog, you’ll find that they’re also sharing about our birthday celebration!

I’m playing along at …

Anita, your card is so spring-y and lovely. Makes me thing of the cherry blossoms around the tidal basin in Washington DC. Hubs and I will have to go visit again, its been a few years. Your branches are beautifully spaced and the blossoms are just that perfect lightness.

First thing that comes to mind is delicate cherry blossoms…you’ve captured their beauty perfectly. I can almost smell them. There is something about soft pink flowers that makes the heart swell. That is the feeling this card evokes for me. Soothing, peaceful and, oh so, beautiful.

Such a wonderful card, Anita. Your twice-stamped blooms are gorgeous, and the sentiment is so loving, positive and hopeful with such a spring-y feel. It’s still very wintery around here with another big icy storm forcast for this week. Can’t wait to see blooms like that for real! Hugs to you, S.

Oh Anita what a gorgeous spring time card. I have a lone yellow snapdragon right out my window and I love looking at it. The gardeners did not pull the weed and then lo and behold the snapdragon arose. I love snapdragons. Happy Spring!

Your trees are covered in blossoms and we still have snow on the ground! That’s why I appreciate your pretty, flowering branch even more! The soft colors remind me of Spring! (Will it ever come to our corner of the world…?)

So gorgeous, Anita–love the soft, delicate look of your cherry blossoms. The pink is so pretty. We had rain today for the first time in a long while. Lots of green beginning to show! I love when the trees start to bloom!

I’m late, mon amie, but I’m here! I could not NOT leave a comment on this realistic and gorgeous flowering tree OLC! We have a pink tree just like this on the corner of the block, only now it’s lost a lot of petals because of the rain. I love the sediment you chose, too! It fits beautifully! Congratulations to TO and to the whole Team for four wonderful years of challenges!! LYAMYMA! IWCYS! Hugs, Darnell

This is so delightful, Anita! I’d expected the trees here to be in bloom when we returned from Italy, but not yet. Only my Forsythia is showing signs of starting. Merci… for the lovely birthday greetings that awaited me. Love those enamel accents!

Such a pretty card but my comment is dual purpose. Just wanted to let you know that I have finally won something via a comment on Instagram. Will let you know what the goodies are when they arrive.

That’s just like the view from my house! Technically the tree belongs to next door, but it’s right on the boundary, and half of it overhangs my garden, and it’s having its best blossom for years! I love the softness of the blossoms on your card, very dreamy. And the triple-stacked sentiment adds a lovely bit of dimension. Gorgeous!

Beautiful, Anita! I love the delicate pink blossoms and your die cut word center to your sentiment is perfect! Honeysuckle trees are blooming here, but mostly the early bulbs are blooming, oh yah and those brilliantly beautiful yellow forsythia…. ahhhh spring!
