A New Challenge At Time Out – #118 – Home Sweet Home

Hello … bonjour!  Our new challenge at Time Out has just gone live … we have a Home Sweet Home picture to spark your imagination … and it’s rich and gorgeous (a little further down).  Here’s my take on it …

Time Out… and here’s our wonderful, floral inspiration …

My attention was taken by those fabulous flowers in their warm oranges and peaches with a touch of golden yellow … and I used those colours for my background.  I die cut the Poppy Stamps Hampstead Bloom (sadly discontinued) and adhered it onto a card stock mounted panel of watercoloured, scrunched and gold heat embossed tissue paper.  The panel was trimmed with gold foil and I popped it up on craft foam onto a white linen card base.  The sentiment (Uniko) was gold heat embossed (to match the veins in the tissue paper) and I finished off with some tiny gold pearls in the centres of the flower heads.

What is it that gets your imagination going in our Home Sweet Home photo … the rich colours, those fun pumpkin vases, the delicate glassware … or something else completely?  Whichever way you’re inspired, we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  Our winner, as chosen by the DT, will receive a $20 gc from our terrific sponsor, Poppy Stamps and will have the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a heap of gorgeous cards from our fabulous DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Angie from Cimbacreativefun.  Do pop over for a visit with Angie … you’ll have a fabulous time meandering through all the delicious cards on display!  In addition, we’re delighted to be joined by the Design Team from Poppy Stamps … do go along and check out all the inspiration over at their blog … you’ll come away itching to create!

You have really captured the warmth of the inspiration photo in your sunny glowing colored panel, Anita! I love the texture of the scrunched tissue paper and the gold matting behind the simple white flowers! The gold seed beads and gold sediment finish it perfectly! LYAMYASYS!! Hugs, Darnell

That background is a beautiful colour and I do love the texture toy added with the scrunching. And keeping the die white was such a good idea, it keeps the background still so wonderfully the star. I must remember to do this more often x

Love this. No. Really love this. That panel is simply stunning. I keep going back to look at it; it’s beautiful and fascinating. You’ve located it perfectly on your white ‘canvas,’ and let it stand out in all it’s glory. You’ve totally captured the essence of the inspiration photo without going all froo-froo, too! Wish you could show me how you did this! xo Bev

You’ve done it again. Elegant, exquisitely CAS and, best of all, simply lovely. That tissue paper technique adds so much depth and testure to your card. Just screams Autumn to me. Now, I feel inspired, so I’ve got to go think up something to enter this challenge.

I thought that looked like tissue paper when I first saw the card, Anita. I love the texture it gives and then you upped it a notch by gold embossing. Beautiful card!

Your tissue paper bg looks so stunning! This is a technique I’ve never tried and always when I see it used I think I should try it right away. Love the addition of gold. This flower die is so cute and delicate, I have it too (I think we got it as freebie I think). I really like the detailed CAS look of this card.

I just had to tell you how much I love this card for the challenge Anita and you reminded me about the floral die that I have too (forgot all about it!!!). The background behind the crisp, clean flower die-cut is divine and adding the gold embossing for the sentiment is beyond gorgeous. Love it so much and I’m so glad you shared it with us as well at The Flower Challenge!!!!
