Hello … bonjour! We have a special challenge for you at Time Out this fortnight … our theme this time round is Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship … with the optional twist of making a one layer card. Here’s where I went with it …
I chose not to twist this time round. My scribbly blooms and leaves are from CAS-ual Fridays Peaceful Garden and are stamped directly onto the card base. I added some doodlie dots with a black pen to add to the whimsical nature of the images. The sentiment is also from CAS-ual Fridays (Mon Ami) and is white heat embossed onto a black strip. The strip was adhered flat to the base … and I was done. Except … I wondered what it would look like if the monochrome was reversed … so made this to find out …
White heat embossing onto a black panel … with a black on white sentiment strip. I’m finding it hard to choose which I prefer … it changes from moment to moment … how about you?
How will you interpret our Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship theme … and will you use our optional twist? We’d love to see what you create in our gallery. This fortnight, we’re sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays. You may know that owner Michele is a breast cancer survivor and a huge champion of Breast Cancer Awareness, not only financially through her company but also through the Calling All Sistahs Blog, Encouragement Squad and Challenge, here. Do go and check it out if you’re not aware of it … so worth it … and not to be too dramatic about it, it may just save your life.
Our challenge winner, as voted for by the DT, will receive a $25 GC for the CAS-ual Fridays store … and as usual, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge. All the details are over at Time Out, along with plenty of fabulous inspiration from our splendid DT … and from our talented and returning Guest Designer, Marieke. There’s so much to enjoy at Marieke’s blog … go have a meander, you’ll love it!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
Wow, Anita…I love your ‘take’ on that stamp set! A wonderful monochromatic scheme!…both ways! ♥
Such a great and meaningful challenge and you’ve responded to it with such beautiful cards. I really like the layout of your stamped images and the swirl shapes themselves. Very simple yet elegant in their own way and the balance of the white space is perfect. Both cards are wonderful, yet I’m drawn to the first one, there’s just something really appealing about the black ink on the white.
Both ways they are looking great! Sometimes no colour is so much stronger than adding colour and these 2 are beautiful examples of that! Hugs, Gerrina
Oh how beautiful are these Anita! I must agree with Gerrina! B&W on itself is so striking and then however I find myself always wanting to add a pop of color 🙂
Hugs

I had no problem choosing a favorite, Anita! That black card is really a stunner!
=]
Wow! These cards are fabulous and so very striking. I can’t pick a favorite. The design is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂
oh they are both fabulous cards. I love the doodled dots you added, they really do give your card a whimsical look. I love the softness of the first card and the drama of the second……drama for me it is! So good to see you at Calling All Siatahs x
love them both…the black and white pairing are so striking and stunning!
Both cards are fabulous, the black adds a little extra magic I think.
Both so sophisticated and dramatic…love the contrast you’ve creatied and that wonderful sentiment. Simple, clean and very impactful. Just too AWESOME to put into words.
Bises
Awesome card!
Thank you for sharing with Addicted to Stamps and More!

Very eye catching layouts, both of them and the monochromatic look looks stunning. Nope can’t choose as they both look amazing x
Love them both Anita! I am leaning toward the blacker one because it is a little more unusual and would help me reduce my excessive black c.s. hoard. =^..^=
You are so clever, Anita! I love both cards…such a fun design and your ‘doodle dots’ are the perfect touch!
What a fabulous pair of cards Anita! They are both simply gorgeous, but my goodness does the black card ever have WOW factor!!
Two beautiful cards Anita. LOVE your monochromatic design. They are both fantastic … couldn’t pick a fav. Great work! xx
Both versions are so wonderful, love the clever CAS design Anita!
Hi Anita, I’m venturing back from a blog break and saw your beautiful card in the gallery at ATSM. Stunning design and I love both takes, such a striking image, Cathy x
Love your design and both are so stunning! The black does add a bit more punch though!
I was really liking the original, Anita, until I saw the one on black. Both are beautifully done but the black one is so dramatic and calls my name.
Wow, Anita. Could there be more drama on a single blog post??? Stunning, both.
I’m not going to try and choose my favorite because I love them both equally! Love this design! Very pretty cards!
Oh Anita, I love your card. It is so simple and beautiful. As I scrolled down to the second one, I gasped a little. That one is even more fabulous it that is possible!
I love your card and the message behind it!
I absolutely love the stamps from Cas-ual fridays and you used them so beautifully!

Sorry I’m late to the party Anita. Wow, loving both of these cards Anita! So CAS, so beautiful and so encouraging!!! Love, love, love! Hugs, Brenda
Apologies for the late comment, Anita. But it was well worth dropping by, I’m loving both of these! I can’t decide on a favourite but I think the white embossing on the black panel takes the award for the most eye catching. Just stunningly CAS and thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers, Anita x
well… how in the world did I miss these two beauties?! I do not know, but here I am now to tell you that they are absolutely amazing!
Oooh, I really like those flowers stamped in black and white! Your sentiment is wonderful and uplifting. Thank you for playing along with the Calling All Sistahs challenge.
Such beautiful and meaningful cards Anita! I love the simplicity of the black and white! xo
Hi Anita, Too long time and no comments. Sorry for that. I DO enjoy your posts, but rarely find the time to comment. I love these two cards. Can’t possibly prefer one before the other. I am a fan of a motive use two ways, so to speak. It is ab fab!
Great take on the inspiration photo. Both cards are lovely!!! Thanks for playing with us at Calling All Sistahs. Hugs, 🙂
I love black and white cards as they can be so elegant, and this card is no exception. B
Both versions are stunning, Anita! I love how the doodled dots have added a little whimsy to the design 🙂
It is refreshing to see somebody deviating from the almost obligatory pink for this theme! Love both of them!
