Twofer Card Challenge #20 – Critters

Hello … bonjour!  Our fun September challenge has just launched at Twofer … this month we’re inviting Critters to play with us …

… my critters are little bitty things … A confetti strewn birthday card and a starry, festive Christmas card … with a gift toting Bitty Bear from MFT as my common image (one was coloured as part of our tutorial at the Lake House with the lovely Kara, colourist extraordinaire … the others were coloured especially for today!).  Here’s a closer look at each card …

Here, my design is a circle within a circle with the sentiment placed underneath.  Bitty Bear is the star of the show, set against the softly sponged yellow centre of a halo of celebratory confetti, stamped with Concord & 9th‘s Bitty Burst Turnabout.  The sentiments are both from Simon Says Stamp.  I added shimmer to the gift … and Glossy Accent-ed it, along with some random parts of the confetti and Bear’s eyes and nose.  Here’s a closer look at the shine …

I used Bear conventionally again on my Christmas card …

… in a design that has him and his friends clambering around a large central die cut sentiment that stretches across the width of the card.  The ho ho ho was made up of the first and last letters of Altenew‘s Mega Hello die.  The Bears climbed aboard, I adhered them and the ho ho ho to a panel of pp (yep, I used pp!) and attached the pp to the card base.  The sentiment and gifts were layered generously with shimmer … and I once again added Glossy Accents to the Bears’ eyes and to the gifts.  They chose the red Rudolph noses themselves … they thought it was appropriate for Christmas!  You can see the detail a little better here …

How about joining us with some critters of your own … we’d love to see you and them in our gallery!  All the details about how to play along, including rules and FAQs are at the Twofer blog … together with heaps of splendid inspiration from the DT.  We’re delighted to have as our Guest Designer, the super talented Nora from A Creative Touch … welcome Nora!  If you haven’t met Nora yet, do go over and enjoy a wander through her blog … you’ll have a splendid time!  Even if you are familiar with her work, why not pop along anyway … you can always say hello while you’re there!

My confetti Bear is heading to …

At first glance your cards are simple as can be, Anita, but if one takes a closer look at the details, it’s clear that a lot of thought went into each design. I love them both! You rocked the Bitty Bear coloring (you’ll make Odessa very proud!) and each element of your layouts! I especially love how you very cleverly made a ho out of hello for the wee bears to frolic on!! LYAMYMA! SLAPTD … TS! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

You bet I’ll join in…once I decide on the critter, that is. Both these cards made me smile…beam, actually. Such happy ones and you got a Christmas card out of it, too. Of course, I didn’t miss the glorious yellow on your first one or the brilliant use of the giant die to make the custom sentiment on the second. And all those little details that are so you.

This is the sweetest little Bitty Bear with his glossy nose and shiny gift! Your coloring and designs are inspiring, to say the least. Clever crafting of the “ho ho ho”! Sometimes designer paper is just the ticket. Love both cards, Anita!

Oh your cards are WONDERFUL!! I LOVE the fun burst that the little bear is standing in on the first card. Another stamp I can see using a lot. You guys are killing me and now I have a ton on my wish list!! I LOVE that second card with the pieced sentiments. This is GENIUS. Now I am going to look at my dies a bit differently!! GREAT take on this challenge!

Such sweet, sweet cards Anita!! Your birthday bear surrounded by all the confetti totally makes me smile and I can definitely see Kara’s coloring influence there! And your Ho Ho Ho card couldn’t be any cuter with the way you have the bears entwined into the letters and with those sweet red noses! Two FABULOUS cards my friend! Hugs. :0)

These cards are adorable Anita, and so different! I love the simplicity of the bear in his celebratory shower of confetti and your addition of shiny accents. The bears using the sentiment as a climbing frame on the second card was a brilliant idea! Love their little rudolph noses!

It’s obvious you had fun with these cards, Anita, letting those bears climb among the die cut letters, which were genius by the way. Such tiny spots to add GA to but you did a fab job and the red noses? The perfect whimsical touch.

I was so tickled to see your little bears, Anita! You colored them beautifully! Your designs are both so clever. I love how your burst of colors radiate from the bear bearing his gift! It’s such a happy birthday card! Those three guys couldn’t be more festive on your Christmas card with their sparkling red noses, and I LOVE how they nestled in the ho ho ho sentiment!

I’m behinder. Sorry for that, dear friend. As soon as I saw those bitty bears I thought about our time at the Lake House. Such happy memories!! Such cute bears! A couple of things come to mind…Your creativity always blows me away, and I was truly stunned to learn that you’d pieced together your “hohoho.” The cuts are perfect. Perfect! I love that!! And even with a bit of patterned paper, your card stays in the realm of CAS. You’re so brilliant! Love the circle within a circle, too. Such sweet colors, and the random GA are a great touch. Two fun critter cards, dear friend. Missing you and sending hugs. Give D. my best as that thing approaches. xoxoxo
