A New Challenge At Time Out – #147 – Inspired By Words

Hello … bonjour … long time no see!  This year has been a busy one outside of blogland and as a result I’ve not been here a great deal, though I have (mostly) stayed in touch with what you’ve all been creating while I haven’t been!  This last couple of weeks, however, have been especially full … and that’s meant there’s been almost no opportunity to visit everyone, outside of my DT commitments.  So, to those of you who haven’t seen or heard from me recently … thank you for your patience and understanding … normal service will be resumed shortly!

I’m here today because our new challenge at Time Out has just started … and this fortnight, we’re Inspired By Words … Dream Big, Be Grateful, Give Love, Laugh Lots.   Here’s where I went with those words …

On a white pierced, scalloped card panel cut with a Winnie & Walter die, I stamped these lovely words and delicate single floral stem from Uniko’s You Are, Yes You stamp set.  The stem was curved to create the sense of a smile … and the flower head balances the offset ‘loved’ in the sentiment.  I coloured the bloom with Zigs, covered it with lots of shimmer and added some sparkling gems to finish off.  The scalloped panel was added to a matching mat and then popped up onto the card base on craft foam.  You can see more of the shimmer here (even though it’s a little out of focus!) …

Where will our words take your creativity?  You can use any or all of them to inspire your card … we’d love it if you played along with us.  We’re sponsored this time around by Uniko (thanks, Bev!) who are offering our winner, as voted for by the DT, an in-stock stamp set of their choice.  As usual, our winner will also be invited to be our Guest Designer for a future challenge.  The details are over at Time Out, along with heaps of lovely inspiration from our fabulous DT, which I know you won’t want to miss!

My card will be going into the gallery at …

CAS on Friday – Big Sentiment or Word

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour – Anything Goes Optional Botanical

The Flower Challenge – Clean and Simple

The Paper Players – Clean and Simple – Say It Loud

Thanks so much for coming by (especially when I haven’t been doing), your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

I am so behind with seeing cards as well-but life gets in the way sometimes-sending hugs x I adore how you used this flower as a smile with this big sentiment-must try this and well what can I say about this beautiful colour!

Oh Anita, I SO understand how life gets in the way of crafting and visiting friends. I do hope things are settling down for you. I am happy to see you whenever you have the time. 🙂 Your card here is just lovely. The flower smile made me smile and the sentiment is so encouraging. I like the font! The design of the card with the purple peeking out behind the scallops makes everything pop. Wonderful work, my friend! 🙂

Oh Anita it is so good to see a post from you. I thought I had goofed up my subscriptions with WordPress and attempted to correct them.
Your beautiful creations have been sorely missed. Of course I am no longer submitting cards but I do view various card artists.
My best to you and Don.

I adore the way you’ve nestled that pretty little bloom under the most important word ~ love! This is pretty Anita. Life does get busy. You take care of yourself first 😉

Your design balance is perfect as are the colors and wink of twinkle on your lovely flower. Most of all I adore the sentiment you’ve created. Don’t worry about hanging out in blogland…you just do what you need to do.

I hear you with the ‘busy’ thing, every time I decide to slow down a bit it seems that life doubles in speed lol. So happy that you are finding even just a little crafty time and I am looking forward to seeing your ‘normal service’ when you can .

This is so you – you amazing and fabulous card maker! I am totally with you – this year has been busier than ever, totally unplanned, just when I thought things would settle down with all my kids out of the house….but one has little control over other things. I just hope it will get easier for you (and me, too…)

I love this superb superlative design, Anita! And I thank you for the inspiration! I have all those word stamps (might even be the same ones!) and dies with these words and it never occurred to me to lay them down one after the other! Now that I see it, especially with awesome border and the pretty, smiling, and schparkly blossom, I can’t wait to CASE it!! LYAMYMA! HAIWWD!! Hugs, Darnell

What a perfect and lovely design! Your use of the word stamps and the placement of the sweet bloom makes such a wonderful card. I totally know how stressful life can become. Never worry about commitments in blogland, just take care of yourself and visit or post when you feel you can.
