Hello … bonjour! It’s the 10th of the month … and that means we have a delicious new challenge for you at Twofer! This month we’re inviting you to be healthy with …
I chose to get all zesty and zingy with citrus fruits … using a stamp from Ellen Hutson‘s Rustic Botanicals (now retired) as my common image … one conventional, one unconventional. Here’s a closer look at each card …
A lower third design on a scalloped panel, with stamped and die cut slices of lemon, lime and orange … together with a few stamped mint leaves (Papertrey) … all ready for dressing some long cool drinks. I stamped the sentiment from Ellen Hutson (kind of mouthwatering!) … and finished off with a few gems on the fruit.
I made my unconventional design a one layer card … with central images and a border along the top …
… and turned the citrus slices into retro Christmas baubles, hanging from some Stampendous pine branches, all silver heat embossed. The baubles were watercoloured in pastel shades and were dressed with glittery Nuvo drops … and they’re attached to the branches with hand drawn silver cords. The sentiment in pink is from Waltzingmouse Stamps (NLIB).
How would you like to join us with your two distinctly different takes on fruit … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery! All the details about how to play along, including rules and FAQs are at the Twofer blog … together with heaps of brilliant ideas from the DT to inspire you. Our talented Guest Designer this month is Sonja from Old Punca … do go over and enjoy a wander through her blog … you’ll have a wonderful time exploring … and you can always say hello while you’re there!

Oh Anita! I think your two fer is fantastic. I like the bright and cheery traditional use for the fruit. The unconventional is so clever! What a creative way to use the fruit. Thanks for sharing how you think outside the box!
Oh so very clever, love the two totally different versions of the same stamp!!
Oh you clever clever girl. Those citrus wheels make such lovely ornaments. You really knocked it out for this challenge. Love that you came up with and unconventional twist.
Boy would I ever like to slip a slice of lemon on a tall, cool glass of gin and lemonade! Especially since you’ve got the fruits ready to go in anticipation of us stopping by for a little drinky-pooh! Very cool CAS card my friend with bright happy colors. Christmas ornaments. Excuse me, can I borrow your brain for a little while? My mojo isn’t anywhere to be found, and I could use a couple of ideas like this one. Christmas ornaments. What a clever, clever, clever idea! Your silver touches are lovely and just right for the season. Those silver branches are perfection. Great cards. Love ’em! Sending hugs. xoxo
Beautiful cards! Wonderfully clean designs and fabulously creative to use the fruit slices as ornaments – outstanding!
Two beautiful cards and a great idea to use the fruits as a christmas tree ball. Gundi
Love your citrus ornaments ! Who knew! A brilliant interpretation!
Oh my….so in love with your sweet silver slices of ornaments, simply genius!!!! Love them both.
Talk about clever! You’ve taken a non-fruit-stamp, turned it into a lemon slice, and then a bauble??!! TWO slices of brilliance, Anita!

Thanks so much, Michele … you know I love a play on words! Funny isn’t it … I’ve always seen this image as a citrus fruit slice because it goes with the other fruity images in the set … pomegranate, raspberry, blueberry and strawberry. Now you mention it, I guess it could be seen as an unusual, funky flower head of some kind … though, if it was, I couldn’t have used it for my Twofer cards as it wouldn’t have met the prompt requirement. Good thing it’s a citrus slice! Hugs, my friend, Anita 🙂
Your citrus card is fresh and lovely and just perfect for February as it is citrus season in Texas! Very nice card. We are so pleased that you joined us this week at Watercooler Wednesday. Karen – DT
Stylish and fun as ever.
Well, you post made my mouth pucker up…hope you’re happy. Both your cards are so fun and happy and, the good Lord knows, I love citrus of any kind. Really a charming Christmas card, too. One more made before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Good for you, my friend.
