Twofer Card Challenge #25 – Spring Animals

Hello … bonjour!  Our fun March challenge has just launched at Twofer … and this month we’re inviting some Spring Animals to play with us …

… mine are spring chicks …

A bright rainbow Just Because card … and a sweet, sunny Hello card … with some long legged chicks from Technique Tuesday as the common image.   Here’s a closer look at each one …

On this card, my design is a set of panels across the centre of the card, with the sentiment spread out underneath them.  They were die cut with Hero Arts Infinity Dies and each one was stamped with the long legged chick.  The chicks were then masked and I sponged two colours of distress ink on each one to create an ombré style rainbow.  The sentiment (from Concord & 9th) was stamped onto the base card and I mounted each little chick panel over it on craft foam.

I went with another conventional use of the chicks on my twofer …

Here there’s an ombré sponged and stacked hello die cut from Winnie & Walter (NLIB) set along the lower third of the card.  The alcohol marker coloured long legged chick and his little friend were perched on top of the word … and the supplementary chickie sentiment (Waltzing Mouse Stamps, also NLIB) was stamped underneath it.  The crimped frame on the card base is from The Greetery.

How about joining us with some Spring Animals of your own … we’d love to see you (and them) in our gallery!  All the details about how to play along, including rules and FAQs are over at the Twofer blog … together with heaps of splendid inspiration from the DT.  We’re delighted to have two super talented Guest Designers joining us this month … Bobby from Bits and Pieces … and Brenda from Inkspired To Stamp … welcome ladies!  If you haven’t met these fabulous artists yet, do go over and enjoy a wander through their blogs … you’ll have a splendid time finding inspiration galore!  Even if you are familiar with their work, why not pop along anyway … you can always say hello while you’re there!

Everyone should love these chicks as much as I do. Funky, sweet and funny. Love how you’ve incorporated them into adorable cards. My favorite is, of course, the yellow one but that rainbow card is a reall eye catcher. Such a clever way to showcase these critters.

I just want to hug those long legged chicks! They are adorable and the two standing on the ombre hello just warms my heart. The rainbow card is so pretty and I love the sentiment spaced out underneath. Two great cards.

What fabulous and fun cards Anita. The common stamped chick image is adorable. The rainbow colours look happy and what beautiful blending and masking. The crimped edged frame die sure brought my eyes into the super cute little chicks and the wonderful die cut Hello. Both cards brought a happy smile to my face Anita…….Thank you x.

Something about those long legged chicks have me smiling from ear to ear! Both of your designs are so clever and beautiful. The designs themselves really define these cards! I love the ombre rainbow row of rectangles, especially with keeping those chicks white. Your hello word is the perfect platform for those chicks to perch, and the “chickie” word really reflects the style of those chicks! Such a fun twofer, Anita!

Two great cards! You do wonders with this little set. I was a little stumped about the theme – spring animals??? Like they get slaughtered and don’t make it into the summer? How cruel….Well, I try to eat vegetarian as often as I can….Or is it animals that are born in the spring? Like beavers, otters, black bears and foxes….I need some help, LOL!

I’ve always loved those chicks and haven’t used mine in a long time, Anita. They look superb on the rainbow colored panels and spectacular perched on the large die cut sentiment.

J’adore ! Bises
