Twofer Challenge #28 – Circles/Bubbles

Hello … bonjour!  It’s the 10th of the month … and that means it’s time for a brand new challenge at Twofer … this time around, we’re inviting you to play with …

My common images here are a couple of circle stamps from Simon Says Stamp‘s Lots of Dots set.  On my hello card, they were joined by a whole load of other sized circles from the same set … stamped randomly to create a lower third border that’s kind of bubbly.  The second card (heureux anniversaire … happy birthday in French) features the circles stamped in a geometric pattern on a central panel.  How about a closer look at each one …

I drew faint pencil lines to act as a general guide for my individually stamped overlapping line art circles … and erased them once the stamping was done.  The secondary sentiment (WPlus9) was white heat embossed onto a slender strip of black card that was adhered flat over the bubbly background.  I cut the hello (SSS) from a left over piece of watercolour paper that had been rainbow coloured for a different project, stacked it up on another four die cuts and adhered it over the black strip.  Crisp and CAS with a pop of colour!

My second card features just two of the circles …

… stamped one inside the other to create a cool pattern.  They were watercoloured with CP inks using a subtle, masculine colour palette.  I added a couple of twine tied Simply Graphic leafy sprigs (adhered just where they intersected to allow them to drift free), stamped the sentiment which translates as Happy Birthday (also Simply Graphic) and popped the panel up onto an Oyster Grey card base.

How about joining us with your two distinctly different takes on circles/bubbles … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  Details of how to play along, including rules and FAQs are over at the Twofer blog … along with plenty of delicious inspiration from the DT and from our fabulous Guest Designers, Jenny from My Paper Epiphany and Linda from Lin’s Craft Corner.  Do go and check out Jenny’s and Linda’s twofers … they’re brilliant!   You can enjoy a wander around their blogs while you’re there … and maybe say hello too … they’ll be delighted to hear from you!

My first card is saying hello at …

Day Of The Month Club – Repeat Day

Happy Little Stampers Dies – Anything Goes

Krafty Chicks – Stamp Act

… the second is heading to …

Seize The Birthday – Anything Goes (no Summer topping)

Simon Says Stamp Monday – It’s A Man Thing

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday – Masculine

… and my twofer is also joining in at …

Vesela Hiška (Happy House) – Dvojni Izziv (A Double Challenge) … a fun idea adopting the same principles as Twofer (two different designs, two different occasions, using the same stamp, die or stencil) … thank you ladies!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

It’s amazing how you showcased circles together with two very different “feels” to them. One is fun and bubbly with the mass of circles and the bright word loudly cheering. The other is refined and peaceful with it’s organized design and subtle colors. Such a wonderful twofer, Anita!

These were such a creative use of that circle stamp set, Anita. I’m generally drawn to black and white with bright colors, and that card is wonderful, but the subtle color mix on the second card is magnifique.

I should revise my Twofer post, Anita, because you have have successfully COMBINED a circle AND a bubble! Okay, not really, I know they are both circles, but you’ve made your circles look so bubbly and playful on your rainbow hello card that I carried that bubbly feeling over to your second brilliant card celebrating an anniversary! Or are they wonderfully delicious olives waiting for a quarantini to jump in to?!! No matter how one looks at your designs, they are inventive and delightful! LYAMYMA! SGTTY, AA!! Take care! You always blow me away with your simple style Anita, and this month is no different!! Your line of black bubbles and the rainbow “hello” card is FABULOUS! So crisp and clean and colorful and just perfect! Your water color card is AWESOME too…the softer muted colors make this perfect for a masculine card and the design is amazing! You definitely ACED this challenge my friend! Hope you are doing well and staying healthy? Not venturing out much here and just spending time in my happy place!! Hugs. :0)

I’m back a little. Gee, I hope I remember how to do this, lol! Your cards. Oh my gosh, your cards! So very light and airy; rather dreamy, in fact! The black and white of your first card comes to the forefront after first being drawn to the rainbow colors of your ‘hello.’ The word ‘floaty’ comes to mind; everything floats on your bubbles (circles). Then…then! you go and make a very cool, in so many ways, birthday card. I’m fully obsessed with these watercolory colors. Dang, girl! I love SG, and may have to check out their last release. Rather than buying crafting supplies, I’ve been getting paint, rollers, spackle…. It might just be time to switch to more fun purchases now! Missing you and wishing you a wonderful week my friend. xoxoxo

Anita you are so gifted. Two cards using the same stamp and yet so totally different. Your CAS look is always so elegant. And one more thing: you certainly know how to submit a card/cards to a lot of challenges — that takes talent. My best to you and Dom.
