Hello … bonjour! We’re mid way through our fabulous Birthday themed challenge at Time Out … with the optional Technique Twist of using sponging. After last week’s dimensional, multi layered confection, this time I went with a (mostly) flat little number (still no twisting!) …
This card was inspired by two videos I saw over the last few weeks … this one from Jennifer McGuire and this one from May Park. I combined the two ideas for my version, using cool, frosty looking brrrrrrr-wintery colours. The die cut happy is from Avery Elle, cut once in silver foil and three times in aqua, stacked with the letter loops left in place on the bottom layer, and adhered to the card front. I drew a pencil line frame around the card as a guide and did some random surround stamping with Avery Elle stamps, using four chilly ink colours plus silver to go with the sentiment. A little Stickles was added to the flower centres, a tiny SSS sentiment was white embossed on black, trimmed out and nestled in under the happy on foam tape … and I erased the pencil line frame. Kind of prettily frosty … or frostily pretty!
We’d love for you to play along with us at Time Out … with any style of birthday card … and if you use sponging on your project, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a £15 evoucher to spend at Uniko! Also, and as usual, our overall winner, as chosen by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge! It could be you! There’s a heap of inspiration on display over at the Time Out blog, from our talented (and returning from July!) Guest Designer, Rema from Paper Panache … and from our wonderful Design Team. Hope you’ll be able to make it to the gallery!
I’m playing along at …
AEIHeartU – Winter … I went with those cool, frosty colours!
Just Us Girls – Metallics … my silver sentiment and stars!
Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
