Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Hello … bonjour!  It’s so long since I played along at a Papertrey Blog Hop that I don’t even recall when it was.  When I saw this month’s bold, vibrant inspiration, it just settled in my mind and wouldn’t go away … so I just had to make a little something …

and here’s the wonderful inspiration …

Victoria johnson 8 Victoria johnson 8a

My card is one layer, stamped with floral/leaf images and a sentiment from Embellished Elegance, and inspired by the colours in the right hand picture.  It was fun playing with a colour palette that’s a bit outside my usual range … and as it was quick to make and all the ingredients were already out on my desk, I made a couple more in different colours …

These were stamped on white card panels … one was adhered flat to the base and the other was popped up on craft foam.  Spectrum Noir shimmer was added to the flowers on both, though as ever, it’s tricky to see!

Time Out DT #76, Addicted to Stamps & More #227, CAS-ual Fridays #166, Darnell’s NBUS #10, SSS Wednesday – 1 February, SSS Work It Wednesday – January

Hello … bonjour!  We’re starting a lovely new challenge at Time Out today … we’re ‘Inspired By Words’ … friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can’t break them apart.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-76Time Out

I stamped and white heat embossed the treble clef (thanks to Michele at CAS-ual Fridays) onto a watercolour panel, painted around the outside of it with various Zig Brush Markers, added water, and allowed the colours to blend into one another.  Once it was dry, I embossed the stave with a stylus, stamped that fabulous sentiment (from the same set as the clef) above it and popped the panel up on craft foam onto the card base.   A trio of Glossy Accent-ed die cut hearts finished it off.

Where will our words take you this fortnight?  You can use all or any of them to inspire you … we’d love to see your card in our gallery.  Our sponsor this time around is CAS-ual Fridays … our winner, as chosen by the the DT, will win a $25 GC and will also be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of creative ideas from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer,  Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts.  Do go and meander around Jane’s wonderful blog … there’s heaps of delicious CAS-ness to enjoy!

AAA Cards #80, CAS-ual Fridays #164, SSS Wednesday 28/12, SSS Work It Wednesday – December, The Heart Desires #7

Hello … bonjour … I hope you all had a blessed Christmas … and are ready for every exciting and amazing thing that 2017 holds for us!  My card to round off 2016 was inspired by a number of challenges (below) that happened to fall together … and set off my creative imagination …

aaa-80-cfc-164-sssw-28-12-ssswiw-december-thd-7If there was no sparkly washi tape top and bottom, this card would be one layer … but it did need that shimmer to dress it nicely.   The wintery stems were stamped in silver, some more than once to give them extra length … and those frosty seed heads were stamped with various blue/green/silver hues and brushed over with Perfect Pearls while the ink was still damp.  I created the happy sentiment with individual letters, added the tiny birthday over the top and finished off by adding tiny black dots to each of the seed heads.  All the images are from Concord & 9th, except the tiny birthday, which is SSS.  Here’s a glimpse of the sheen created by the Perfect Pearls …

AAA Cards – Silver … I added blue/green too, hope that’s ok … if not, please delete!

CAS-ual Fridays – Celebration … a birthday’s a great reason to celebrate!

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

SSS Work It Wednesday – Something New with New Product … my Concord & 9th stems

The Heart Desires – Inspiration Board (below) … I was taken with the top right picture … those shimmery ornaments hanging from the silvery garlands, and used the top three colours

As the year draws to a close, I’d like to say a huge thank you to each of you … friends, followers and visitors … your keen enthusiasm, boundless energy and warm support touch my heart … and your amazing creativity never fails to inspire me … what a truly special community this is!  Wishing you all a wonderful 2017, filled with joy and with blessings of every kind.

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #73, CAS Mix Up – December, CAS-ual Fridays #163, Happy Little Stampers – December, SSS Wednesday – 21 December, SSS Work It Wednesday – November

Hello … bonjour!  Today we start the last challenge of the year at Time Out … this fortnight, we’re Inspired By Words … ‘With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning’.  To me, this is a perfect phrase for Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of the Infant Jesus,  the Son of God, who came to the world to give us all a new beginning in Him … here’s my card …  time-out-dt-73Time Out

My Christmas Day sunrise is made up of a blend of five sponged Distress Inks, sprayed and splattered with Shimmer Spritz.  The die cuts are from Concord & 9th‘s Holy Night Bundle … they were adhered flat to the inked card base and the star was covered with a generous coat of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  I finished off with the sentiment, also from the same bundle, stamped in Delicata Gold ink, to match all the other sparkle.

Where will these lovely words take you this fortnight?  You can use any or all of them to inspire a card … we’d love to see your take in the gallery!  We’re sponsored by STAMPlorations this fortnight … our winner will win a £20 GC and our two HMs will each receive a $10 GC.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of creative ideas from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer,  Marina from My Perfect Life.  Do go and have a wander around Marina’s fun and creative blog … there’s lots of loveliness to enjoy!

Time Out DT #68, CAS on Sunday #93, CAS-ual Fridays #158, Simplicity Thankgiving Campaign 2016, The Flower Challenge #1

Hello … bonjour!  We have a CASE the Designer challenge for you this fortnight at Time Out … and our designer is the amazingly talented Ardyth from Maskerade (yes, really!).  Ardyth’s fabulous card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-68Time Out… and here’s Ardyth‘s floral delight …

My card is one layer, stamped with all but one image from Concord & 9th‘s Painted Thank You set.  I did the sentiment first, then randomly added the blooms (three reds) and leaves (two greens) around it.  The painted stripe at the bottom and the flower centres were embossed in gold, and I scattered some stamped dot clusters in the open spaces, to pick up on Ardyth‘s black frame.  Voilà!

What grabs your attention on Ardyth‘s card … sentiment, colours, florals, shimmery gold, the technique … or something else?  You can use any or all of the elements that Ardyth used for your card … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of lovely inspiration from our amazing DT, and from our fabulous Guest Designer, Marina from My Perfect Life (who you need to visit if you haven’t already … there’s so much deliciousness on offer)!

I’m playing along with …

Hello … bonjour!  I’m celebrating today with one of the sweetest souls in blogland … I know you’ll know her from her delicious blog, Happy Dance … and if you don’t, you really need to!  Happy, happy, happiest birthday, Bev, ma chère amie … may your day be filled with joy, love and laughter … and may your year to come be blessed with the closeness of family, the warmth of friends, and the delights of new discoveries!  I made this for you, which might or might not have already arrived … if it’s not already with you, it’s pretty close …

happy-birthday-bev-cts-190-cas-ual-fridays-156-fusion-8-9-hls-dies-sep-sssw-14-9-wcmc9-1A white card panel, stamped with the most delicious delicate leaf sprig from Concord & 9th‘s Wildflower set (NBUS!).  It was coloured with Distress Ink and Zigs and the panel was trimmed down so that a couple of the leaves just peek out over the top edge.  The sentiment (SSS) has the die cut word ombré sponged and stacked on craft foam, and the supplementary black strips white heat embossed and popped up on foam tape.  I sponged a slender black frame onto the card base, adhered the finished panel over it with craft foam, and added some clear sequins with enamel accent centres to finish off.

A Just For Fun Card!

Hello … bonjour!  D’you ever find you just have to be creative or you’ll burst?  I had a day like that at the weekend … and made a few cards … one of which I’m sharing here (rather quickly … I’m late and Mr Linky will be closing doors in less than an hour)!  Want to see?

eh-mix-up-c9-1-9-share-joy-52-cfc-156-sssm-12-9-hls-dies-septemberQuick, clean and simple … some Concord & 9th die cut flowers cut from a previously smooshed panel, each attached to the card just in the middle to allow the petals to curve upwards … topped with some sequins and enamel accents.  The ‘love &’ sentiment is from Concord & 9th, the popped up ‘hugs’ is from Ellen Hutson … and I added a slender strip of the smooshed panel down the edge as a finishing touch.

Those delicious blooms and the ‘hugs’ are courtesy of my lovely card making, non blogging, met through blogworld friend Judith in the UK … who comes for a play day each summer when she visits family who live nearby (how’s that for a wonderful coincidence?).  This last visit, Judith brought all kinds of delicious dies for us to play with, including these flowers … and left her (NBUS!) EH All Inside stamp/die set to have a holiday, though I had it working hard before it finally flew home via La Poste!  Thanks so much, mon amie … it was great to see you!
