Time Out DT #76, Addicted to Stamps & More #227, CAS-ual Fridays #166, Darnell’s NBUS #10, SSS Wednesday – 1 February, SSS Work It Wednesday – January

Hello … bonjour!  We’re starting a lovely new challenge at Time Out today … we’re ‘Inspired By Words’ … friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can’t break them apart.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-76Time Out

I stamped and white heat embossed the treble clef (thanks to Michele at CAS-ual Fridays) onto a watercolour panel, painted around the outside of it with various Zig Brush Markers, added water, and allowed the colours to blend into one another.  Once it was dry, I embossed the stave with a stylus, stamped that fabulous sentiment (from the same set as the clef) above it and popped the panel up on craft foam onto the card base.   A trio of Glossy Accent-ed die cut hearts finished it off.

Where will our words take you this fortnight?  You can use all or any of them to inspire you … we’d love to see your card in our gallery.  Our sponsor this time around is CAS-ual Fridays … our winner, as chosen by the the DT, will win a $25 GC and will also be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of creative ideas from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer,  Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts.  Do go and meander around Jane’s wonderful blog … there’s heaps of delicious CAS-ness to enjoy!

Time Out DT #75, Darnell’s NBUS Challenge #8, Where Creativity Meets C9 #5, Happy Little Stampers Dies – January

Hello … bonjour!  We have a CASE the Designer challenge for you this fortnight at Time Out … and our designer is the amazingly talented Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Ksenija’s delicious card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-75Time Outand here’s Ksenija‘s CAS delight …

The pops of bright colour and whimsical style of Ksenija‘s card really caught my eye, so that’s what I focussed on for my CASE.  I used Concord & 9th’s Wildflowers set, randomly stamped onto a stitched card panel, and coloured the leaves and flowers with Zigs.  The panel was adhered over craft foam onto a grey card base and I added a Concord & 9th sentiment, popped up on foam tape, to finish off.

What draws your attention on Ksenija‘s card … the CAS-ness, the tone on tone background, those vibrant colours … or something else?  You can use any or all of the elements that Ksenija used for your card … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of wonderful inspiration from our amazing DT, and from our fabulous Guest Designer, Marjan from Marjan’s Blog (do go over for a visit … there’s so much loveliness to see!).

Guest Designer – CASology #232, Darnell’s NBUS #8, Happy Little Stampers Dies – January

Hello … bonjour!  I’m thrilled to be guest designing with the CASology team this week … thanks so much for the invitation, Melissa … and thanks to the DT too for having me!  The Cue Card is ‘Cut’ … here’s where I went with it …

guest-designer-casology-232casology-guest-designer-badgecasology-week-232-cutYou can see where my ‘Cut’ is can’t you!  I stamped the WPlus9 blooms around the sweet spot (where the thirds lines intersect) on a white card panel, popped up the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff in Darnellese) and Wink of Stella’d die cut sentiment onto craft foam next to it, added some dots of Glossy Accents to the flower centres and sprinkled on a little bling.  Voilà!

I do hope you’ll let your imagination wander through all things ‘Cut’ … and that you’ll join in the fun at CASology this week.  If you haven’t been for a visit already, do go over there and check out what fabulous inspiration the Design Team has prepared for you to get your creative juices flowing!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

My ‘Cut’ card is also heading to …

Time Out DT #65, NBUS #7, CASology #213, SSS Monday – 29 August, SSS Wednesday – 31 August, SSS Work It Wednesday – August

Hello … bonjour!  We’re starting September with a delicious new challenge at Time Out … this time we’re Inspired By Words … ‘Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year’ (Chad Sugg).  Here’s where I went with this quote …

Time Out DT 65Time OutI smooshed a piece of watercolour card with coming-into-autumn leafy colours, die cut it with new and NBUS Concord & 9th Layering Leaves, and kept all the pieces in place with tape.  The leaves were allowed to scatter themselves along the side and bottom edge of a white card panel edged with Lawnfawn‘s Stitched Borders … and I adhered them where they fell.  The sentiment’s from WPlus9,  heat embossed to give it some dimension … and I added splatters across the panel using some of the colours that were in the leaves.  The panel was popped up on craft foam and I was done!  The eagle eyed among you may spot that a little part of one of the leaves is missing … I only noticed after I added the picture here … and after there had already been quite a few clean ups in my craft space … d’you think anyone will notice??

How will our seasonal phrase inspire you?  You can use any or all of the words to get your creative imagination going … and then just play along!  This fortnight, we have a generous sponsor … Michele at CAS-ual Fridays is offering the winner (as voted for by the DT) a $25 GC!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with creative cards galore from our fabulous DT and our talented (and returning!) Guest Designer, Rema from Paper Panache … hope to see you in the gallery!

I’m playing along at …

NBUS – Anything Goes … Darnell’s 7th challenge … and always as wonderful as ever!

CASology – Stitch … embossed stitched edges of the panel.  Ladies, if you think the splatters have done away with the CASness, please do feel free to delete!

SSS Monday – It’s A Stitch Up … embossed stitched edges of the panel

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

SSS Work It Wednesday – Stamps … the sentiment

Time Out DT #51 – Mid Challenge Reminder, Darnell’s NBUS #6, CAS Mix Up – March, AAA Cards #59, SSS Monday – 7 March

Hello … bonjour!  Are you playing along with us at our second anniversary challenge at Time Out this fortnight?  Our theme is Easter or Spring (with an optional twist of masking) … and there’s plenty of time to link up.  This week, I left out the masking but stayed with the colours and theme of Easter …

Time Out DT 51RTime OutI stamped and white heat embossed the Rejoice sentiment down a white card panel (thank goodness for Misti!), used a broad brush to swipe a watercolour wash of Distress Ink over each word, and adhered the panel to the card base.  A stitched border was embossed down each side of the panel and the base.  I cut the Easter cross in woodgrain card stock, popped it up on foam tape onto the card, and stamped the sentiment in black Versafine.  The white embossing resisted the ink a little … oops … so I went over those parts with a Micron fine black pen … that did the trick!  Products are all from SSS except the stitched border, which is Lawn Fawn.

So … will you play along … there are so many options with this theme … and we’d love it if you joined us in the gallery!  As befits an anniversary celebration, there are prizes … a $20 gift card from STAMPlorations for the winner (as chosen by the DT) … and two Artplorations stencils for a randomly drawn player who uses the twist of masking.  Details are over at the Time Out blog … along with lots of delicious inspiration from our wonderfully talented and returning Guest Designer, TaeEun from Rainbow in November … and from our own amazing Design Team.  Hope to see you there!

I’m linking up to …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes … my final entry with this all NBUS card!

CAS Mix It Up – Watercolouring… a fab new challenge from Loll and Bonnie … my additions were heat and dry embossing and die cutting.

AAA Cards – Embossing

SSS Monday – Make Your Own Background … the rejoice panel

The Challenge #63 – Featured Designer, Darnell’s NBUS #6, Seize The Birthday – 25 February, SSS Wednesday 2 March

Hello …. bonjour!  I’m thrilled and delighted to be guest designing alongside the amazing Design Team at The Challenge … every week for the whole month as the Featured Designer … how exciting!  We have a fun and versatile sketch to tempt you this time around (it’s a little further down) … here’s my take on it …

The Challenge GD 1and here’s the sketch …

The Challenge #63 - March Week 1- SketchYep, I switched the background panel to the right rather than the left … those tropical cuties needed to be looking in the right direction!  I masked the card base, sponged on some ombré blue hued Distress Inks and spritzed over it with Shimmer Spray.  The MFT birds were die cut, stamped and coloured with Promarkers … and I cut the MFT palm leaves in green and sponged the edges with Distress Ink.  The birds were arranged against the tropical sky (popped up on die cut fun foam) in the upper most branches of their trees, nestled cosily among all the leaves.  The Avery Elle sentiment was the final touch.

There are so many ways to interpret this fabulous sketch … where will your creativity take you with it?  All the details are over at The Challenge … along with inspiration galore from the Design Team.  Do hope you’ll have chance to play along with us!

My tropical birds are flying off to …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes … my second entry for the lovely Darnell’s sixth challenge … the two birds on the right are both NBUS.

Seize The Birthday – Anything Goes

SSS Wednesday – Touchy Feely … those popped up birds amid all the texture-y leaves.

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge – Guest Designer – March, Darnell’s NBUS #6, SSS Monday – 29 February, SSS Wednesday – 2 March, SSS Work It Wednesday – February

Hello …. bonjour!  I’m honoured and delighted to be guest designing with the awesome CAS team at Happy Little Stampers for the March challenge.  The theme this month is Faux Mother of Pearl … a lovely, soft technique that I’d never explored … now that I have, I can understand how much depth and shimmer it creates!  Here’s my take on it …

HLS CAS GD - MarchGuest Designer Badge - HLS         HLS CAS - March

Thanks to Loll (her video is fabulous!) and Toni (for Loll’s link and another), I had a heap of fun creating the panel above … and it’s so easy!  I used a squidge of Liquid Pearls, scrunched up a piece of cling film, dibbled it into the PP and pounced to my heart’s content onto a white card panel.  Once the panel was dry, I sponged over a bunch of green and blue hued Distress Inks … the pounced Liquid Pearls resisted the DI, so all that was needed to finish off the panel was a gentle polish with a paper towel.  I trimmed the panel to fit my card front, adhered the SSS floral stem die cut to it (NBUS … from my lovely friend, Michele) and mounted the whole thing up on fun foam onto the base.   The SSS sentiment was stamped in Memento Paris Dusk and covered with Wink of Stella … and was surrounded by  a scattering of die cut hearts (from the panel offcuts), which had been coated with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents before being adhered to the card base.  Like to see a detail shot of that faux mother of pearl shimmer …

HLS CAS GD Detail - MarchSo … have you tried the Faux Mother of Pearl Technique?  It’s fun … why not give it a go … we’d love to see your CAS creation in the gallery!  All the details are over on the Happy Little Stampers – CAS blog … along with a heap of inspiration from the Design Team!  Do hope you’ll play along!

I’m joining in with …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes … yep, she’s back for #6!  The sweet flower stems are my NBUS

SSS Monday – Leap Into The Unknown … the faux mother of pearl technique was unknown

SSS Wednesday – Touchy Feely … bobbly mother of pearl, die cut, popped up panel, GA’d hearts

SSS Work It Wednesday – Florals
