Muse #128, AEI♥U #27, Simply Create Too #92

Hello!  I got some crafting time this afternoon … yay!  So, I made a card … actually I made a few … yep, really … and not in marginal moments!  You’ll get to see the others over time … for now, though, here’s today’s little number …

Muse 128, AEI♥U 27, SCT 92          AEIheartUChallengeRunnerUp

I cut the Avery Elle ‘hello’ into a panel of woodgrain embossed card and used it as a guide to show me where to mask and sponge my ombré Distress Inking on the the base card, then where to adhere the little letter fillers once the inking was done.  The ‘gorgeous’ (also Avery Elle) was heat embossed onto vellum in Platinum EP,  the vellum was cut into a banner, wrapped over the edge of the card and attached to the woodgrain panel.  I popped the panel up on foam tape onto the base card and while wondering what else was needed to add that certain je ne sais quoi to this card, this delicate dragonfly flew in the open window (having flown from Clearly Besotted in the UK) and landed right in the top corner.  Voilà … I wondered no more!  Funny how that happens sometimes!!

My card was inspired by …

Muse – The delightful and uber talented Michele is our inspiration this week … her crisp, fresh, gorgeous card is below.

Time Out DT #37, Muse #127, CASology #158, Simply Create Too #91, House of Cards – August

Hello!  We have a yummy new ‘Inspired By Words’ theme for this fortnight’s challenge at Time Out … this time round, our words are ‘ Friendship is Golden’ … how gorgeous is that!  Here’s what I was inspired to create …

Time Out DT 37On a white card panel, I stamped and gold heat embossed the Technique Tuesday sentiment and image.  The slivers of stripes were added down each side of the card base and the panel was popped up over them on fun foam.  I coloured the hearts with Promarkers, picking out colours from the stripes, coated them with clear glitter and topped off with a layer of Glossy Accents.  Voilà … in the words of the lovely Darnell … QACAS (Quick and Clean and Simple!).

How will you be inspired by our words this fortnight?  I used the whole phrase, but you can go anywhere your imagination takes you … we’d love to have you link up what you create!  There’s inspiration galore over on the Time Out blog, from our lovely and super talented (go see, you’ll understand!) Guest Designer, Cornelia from Stempel Spass (Fun Stamping) and wonderful Design Team.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

CASology – Precious … there aren’t many things as precious as friends … golden ones!

Muse – Joan is our fabulous muse this week … my take uses a simple sentiment  as focal point, a cluster of hearts and a popped up panel … and I swapped Joan’s embossed white stripes at the sides for my coloured ones (her delicious CAS card is below).

Simply Create Too – Anything Goes

House of Cards – Metallic … a new to me challenge, discovered via Cornelia who is on the DT (among … thanks, my friend!

Hope you’re having a splendid week … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Little Tangles #57/The Crooked Stamper, Colour Q #293, SSS Wednesday 3/6, Simply Create Too #87, Seize The Birthday 4/6 … and a Winner!

As promised following my Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Finale, I’m back today to announce the winner of the US$30 Gift Card that Julie and Shay generously gave me.  Thank you so much to everyone who left me such lovely comments after each performance, I appreciate you all!  I won’t keep you in suspense any longer … the randomly drawn lucky winner, who can now go on a Winnie & Walter spree, is Claire A … congratulations, Claire … I’ve emailed you!

While you’re here, how about a card … my first ‘just because I can’ one for a looooooong time … it was good just to play … and make this …

N&T 57, CQ 293, SSSW 3-6I was inspired here by the sketch at Little Tangles (which is a joint challenge with Leslie at The Crooked Stamper) and the colours from Colour Q.  The Neat & Tangled ‘Happies’ were stamped onto white card, cut with a Papertrey circle die, edged with a black Promarker and clear embossed to add some shine.  I cut a chevron border into a white panel using a little diagonal die from Papertrey, and stamped/heat embossed the ‘Birthday’ (from Technique Tuesday, thanks to my lovely friend, Darnell).  The base card was covered with black card, the ‘Happies’ were popped up on foam tape over the chevrons, and the finished panel was popped up onto the black.  I pondered over dots/gems … but as this will eventually be heading to a teenage boy, I thought better of it … don’t think bling would go down too well!

Thanks for all your warm wishes following the attack of the Heavy-Head-Cold Monster here … I’m more or less back to normal now (hahaha!), and have been enjoying lots and lots of visits across the blogosphere over the weekend … it’s been wonderful!  There’s still more to see, but I’m getting there … and then it’s next stop, my bottomless email inbox!  Thanks so much for your patience … and for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #32 Mid-Challenge Reminder, Simply Create Too #86, SSS Monday 1/6

We’re mid way through our Designer to CASE challenge at Time Out, where we’re CASE-ing the amazing Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia … with our own twist.  Deepti inspiration card is a little lower down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 32RTime Out

and here’s Deepti‘s original …

With this week’s card, I strayed from Deepti’s overall look, while still keeping similar design elements.  I chose to go clean and layered … and used the idea of the angle and the DP in my striped strip, picked the purple/plum/lavender colours from the flowers (mine are from Avery Elle) and kept the placement of the sentiment (from PTI) in the lower half of the card.  There’s even a nod to the black in the DP and bling!  My twist (again!) was all that yummy white space.

Where does Deepti’s card take your imagination … flowers, DP, angled panels, bold black, embossing … just let it meander!  Deepti has recently illustrated her first stamps (Blooming Buds), which have been released through Stamplorations … and is going to be giving away a set to the winner of this challenge (as chosen by the DT) … how generous!  In addition, and as usual, the winner will get the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … so will you play along?  We’d love to have you!  There’s inspiration galore over at the Time Out blog … from our wonderful DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Maura whose Splitcoast Gallery is chock full of fabulous cards … definitely worth a slow wander to drink in all the loveliness!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

SSS Monday – Royal (those luscious purples … colours of royalty)

My good intentions about dealing with the Time Eating Monster were thwarted this week … by the Heavy Cold Monster that took a strong grip and wouldn’t let go!  Yesterday, though I started catching up with my catching up … it’ll take a while, but I will see you before too long!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Happy Birthday, Ardyth! Seize The Birthday 21/5, Simply Create Too #86, SSS Wednesday 27/5, SSS Work It Wednesday – May

I made this card for a fabulous friend … she’s fun, generous, enthusiastic, insightful and supremely creative … she had been and/or is on numerous design teams … and is the owner of Muse and the sparkly new Muse: Christmas Visions.  Well, if that didn’t give the game away I don’t know what will (maybe the post title … tee hee!) … it’s for Ardyth over at Maskerade!  I had the amazing good fortune of meeting and spending a week with her at the Lake House last year … what a delight!  So, Ardyth, my fellow BABE and lovely friend … Happy, Happy Birthday to you … wishing you a wonderful day crammed full of everything that makes you happy … and a year to come chock a block with blessings, love and laughter!   This card’s on it’s way to you …

Happy Birthday Ardyth, STB 21-5, SCT 86, SSSW 27-5, SSS WIW MayYou all know Ardyth, right?  If you don’t, you really need to go over for a loooooong visit … you’ll come away inspired, entranced and completely blown away by her designs!   Whether you do or don’t know her, though, you can always pop round to wish her a Happy Birthday … or maybe even sing it … she’s very musical!

Here, I stamped a panel with PTI‘s Ombré Builders in more-than-a-rainbow-of-colours (there are nine of them … wonder if the pot of gold will be bigger!!) and then die cut four of the five letters from the Winnie & Walter In A Word:Happy out of the space I’d left at the top.  Some more ‘happies’ were cut from white card and one from shiny silver card, I stacked them together and slotted them into the die cut space so the ‘h’ was hanging off the edge.  The rainbow panel was matted onto black (also die cut so the white card base could be seen through the word), I stamped the birthday from Annabelle Stamps (no longer operating), added lashings of Wink of Stella to the rainbow and popped the panel up on foam dots on the base.

Ardyth‘s card is heading to …

Finally today, an apology … life’s been a bit crazy lately and the time I usually have available to spend in blogland has been gobbled up by the time eating monster (who, considering his munch rate, likely has a bad case of indigestion by now).  So I’m behind with my visits and way behind with my emails … sorry I’ve not been around much!  Looking forward to spending some quiet time over the next few days doing some catching up, seeing what’s been going on … and being inspired!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita:)

Time Out DT#32, Neat & Tangled #56, Uniko Studio #21, Simply Create Too #86, Just Us Girls #294, SSS Wednesday 27/5

We have a wonderful theme for you this fortnight at Time Out … it’s our ‘Designer to CASE’ challenge … and we have a card from the super talented Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia to inspire us … it’s pretty, whimsical and dramatic all at the same time (see a little further down) … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 32Time Outand here’s Deepti‘s inspiration …

The design elements I picked out were the flowers (randomly stamped Neat and Tangled whimsical Scandinavian Flowers) and the white embossing on a black angled panel … my twist was going with all that white space!  I added a little colour to the embossed blossoms using Promarkers, adhered the panel flat to the card base, stamped the sentiment (from the same N&T set as the flowers) onto a strip of matching card and added it above the black panel.

What’s going through your creative mind when you see Deepti’s card … flowers, DP, angled panels, bold black, embossing … wherever it settles, I hope you’ll find time to play along with us!  Deepti has recently illustrated her first stamps (Blooming Buds), which have been released through Stamplorations … and is going to be giving away a set to the winner of this challenge (as chosen by the DT)!  In addition, and as usual, the winner will get the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … so what’s not to love?  There’s heaps of inspiration over at the Time Out blog … from our fabulous DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Maura whose Splitcoast Gallery is chock full of fabulous cards … definitely worth meandering gently through!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Time Out #25 Mid Challenge Reminder, Simply Create Too #79, SSS Monday-23 February, SSS Wednesday-25 February

We’re half way through our latest challenge at Time Out … this time our theme is ‘Inspired By Words’ … and our words are ‘Rock Around The Clock’.  Last week, I went pretty and dreamy … this time, I’ve gone graphic …

Time Out DT 25R, SCT 79, SSSM 23-2, SSSW 25-2Time OutAs there isn’t a single clock or music related stamp in my collection, I did a little out of the box thinking … and on a white card panel stamped Avery Elle Bright Days triangles to hint at the idea of clock hands.  The SSS dot acts as the pivot for the hands and was embossed in black.  I created a fun time-related sentiment by selectively inking three different Papertrey stamps … and the ‘hug’ was heat embossed (does that mean the hug is a warm one … tee hee!).  The base card was sponged in black on the top and right hand edges before I popped the finished panel up on it, aligning it so that the black edges were visible.

Will you ‘Rock Around The Clock’ with us this week?  All the details are over on the Time Out blog … where there’s also a ton of inspiration from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer, the lovely Hazel! Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Time Out DT #25, Simply Create Too #79, SSS Monday 16/2

Our shiny new challenge starts today at Time Out … this time we’re ‘Inspired By Words’ … and our words are ‘Rock Around The Clock’.  I focussed on the clock … look …

Time Out DT 25Time OutDandelion clocks!  Remember blowing the seeds off and making a wish when you were little?  I do … soooo many wishes!  This stamp set is from Clearly Besotted … stems stamped first, dandelion heads stamped in two colours each and the seeds stamped floating off in the breeze.  The flowers were coated with Wink of Stella and each seed had a touch of Stickles added to the middle.  The sentiment was dressed with a tiny sequin and a couple of gems and the panel was popped up on foam tape on the base card.

What do you think of when you hear the words ‘Rock Around The Clock’?  Let your imagination wander a little … and when you’ve settled on an idea, why not get creative and play along with us at Time Out … we’d love to have you!   All the details are over on the Time Out blog, along with heaps of inspiration from our wonderful and talented Guest Designer, Hazel and our amazing DT!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’d like to say a huge thank you for all the birthday wishes, cards and gifts I received/opened yesterday … I was bathed in kindness, friendship, generosity and love … and my special day turned out to be a smiling-all-over-my-face sort of a day!  I’m so blessed to be in this amazing card making community … thank you for having me!

NBUS #3, Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW, Simply Create Too #76, SSS Monday 5/1, SSS Wednesday 7/1

I’ve been waiting for some cards to be received before I posted them here … now they’re in the hands of the people they were sent to, I can show you without spoiling any surprises!  I don’t often do a multiple card post, so please bear with me as I figure out how to do it without being too repetitive!  There are three cards … these first two will be heading for the same linkies …

NBUS 3, W&W Birthday, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1 On a white panel, I stamped the ‘fireworks’ in Delicata Gold, Brilliance Platinum and Brilliance Silver (they’re NBUS flower centres from Papertrey‘s Friendly Flowers).  The sentiment’s from Winnie & Walter (Big, Bold, Happy), stamped in Versamark and embossed with Liquid Platinum EP.  The top and bottom strips are also embossed with Liquid Platinum.  I attached the panel and strips to the card base and added a scattering of sequins.

W&W Birthday, NBUS 3, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1Another white panel, this time masked, stamped and silver embossed with Winnie & Walter‘s Big Bang Confetti stars, then sponged with Distress Inks to create a gradient.  I cut the Avery Elle happy (NBUS) out of the panel, and another five times out of white cardstock, and stacked them up, finishing with the sponged/stamped layer.   The ‘New Year’ is Lawn Fawn‘s Milo’s ABCs (NBUS), stamped and embossed in silver.  I adhered a piece of printer paper behind the die cut so the happy could he slotted into place on the panel, then the panel was popped up on foam tape on the base card.

These two are destined for …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes (isn’t the lovely Darnell amazing … not only a fabulous challenge for reaching 700+ followers, which is so wonderful in itself, but as there have been so many entries, she’s upped the prizes from five to 10 US$25 gift vouchers … how generous is that!  These are my second and third entries)

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash – Gayatri’s CAS and Freestyle Collage challenge and Vanessa’s Gradient challenge (Congratulations on W&W’s first birthday, Julie and Shay … such fantastic and fun celebration challenges, thank you!)

Winnie & Walter Join In To Win – January (an ongoing challenge to use W&W’s fabulous goodies!)

SSS Monday – Old and New (First card – old: W&W sentiment, new: ‘fireworks’, second card – old:  W&W stars/Distress Inks, new:  die cut/sentiment)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (First card – ‘fireworks’, second card – die cut/sentiment)

Here’s my final card …

SCT 76, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1I used a Papertrey Happy Phrase Play die cut, selectively Versamarked it, and did some double embossing, first with silver EP, then with gold.  I sponged the circle on the base card with Distress Inks, covered it with Wink of Stella and popped the Phrase Play up on foam tape over it.  A scattering of sequins and gems were added and I cut a little tag with MFT‘s circle stax, stamped and silver embossed the W&W sentiment, added a few stars and left it to hang free from the ‘y’ with silver thread (courtesy of my lovely friend, Bev).

I’m playing along with …

Simply Create Too – Celebrate (New Year – in this part of France the opportunity to exchange good wishes for new year runs until the end of January … by that time most people have seen or spoken with everyone they needed to!)

Winnie & Walter Join in to Win – January (that little tag)

SSS Monday – Old and New (new:  Phrase Play Happy, old:  everything else)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (Phrase Play Happy)

Phew, if you’re still here, thanks for sticking with me!  Thanks too for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Another fortnight’s rolled round and today sees the start of another wonderful challenge at Time Out.  This time our theme is CASE With Your Own Twist … and our designer to CASE is the super talented Aimes at Crafting Confessions.  Here’s my take …

Time Out 20 DTbased on Aimes’ light, airy, snowflake and hearts card …

Let it Snow

I focussed on the blue snowflakes for my card, with my twist being the change from Aimes‘ touch of pink in the hearts, to a touch of red … it makes the Christmas sentiment pop!  I die cut a Uniko Studio snowflake in blue vellum, coated it with Wink of Stella and set it aside to dry.  The medium and small snowflakes (from Uniko Studio and Hero Arts respectively) were stamped in different blues and the sentiment (a blend of SSS and Hero Arts) was added below.  They were all shimmered up with Wink of Stella.  I attached the vellum snowflake, only adhering it in the middle to allow the delicate edges to curve up off the card.  A pearly blue mat was adhered flat to the card base and the panel was popped up onto it.  I finished by adding a clear gem to the centre of each snowflake … here’s a close up of the sparkle …

Time Out 20 DT Close UpSo, how will you CASE Aimes‘ card … and what will be your twist?  There’s inspiration galore from our fabulous Guest Designer, Milla and our wonderful Design Team over at Time Out … have a meander over and enjoy exploring!  I do hope you’ll find some time to have fun and play along … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!
