MFT Summer Camp … and Other Fun!

Hello … bonjour … hope your weekend was a fabulous one!  I had some playtime, got creative and made a few cards … two to share here and two for later (maybe tomorrow, depending on the Time Eating Monster) … I’ll keep it short and sweet!  Here’s the first … a sweet little pretty …

MFT Summer Camp - Glitter, MFT Colour 47, CAS Mix Up - June, TESJ 40Randomly stamped leaves and blooms (MFT), with the flower heads coated with sugary clear glitter (seen better zoomed in!), a little fine black pen doodling, a die cut hello (SSS) stacked on fun foam, and a stamped supplementary sentiment (WPlus9).   I was inspired by this card from Mayuri … it’s bolder, more dramatic and she used a different technique, but you can see how it prompted me.

Here’s the second … a rather dapper chap …

MFT Summer Camp - Die Cutting, HLS Dies - June, PP 300, SSSW 15-6A lightly sponged card panel mounted over black, a bird of paradise (MFT) coloured with Promarkers and perched atop a Winnie & Walter die cut (both on foam), and some tiny supplementary sentiments (SSS) nestled into the word.

My floral number is heading to …

MFT Summer Camp – Glitzy Glitter … Day 1 of 5 … first badge!

MFT Color Challenge – In The Buff, Coral Crush, Gumdrop Green, Blueberry … my closest

CAS Mix Up – June – Stamping, Die Cuts + Choice …. mine’s the texture-y glitter and doodling

Time Out DT #59, CASology #202, SSS Monday – 13 June, The Paper Players #299

Hello … bonjour! Today sees the start of a fabulous new  challenge at Time Out … this fortnight, we have a Masculine theme … with an optional technique twist of using mixed media.  Our definition of mixed media is a simple one … use stamps and ink plus two other elements that add texture and/or dimension.  It can still be CAS if that’s your style … and the twist is optional … so you can go without if you prefer … which is what I did …

Time Out DT 59  Time Out

I stamped the ‘celebrate’ (STAMPlorations) onto a card panel and coloured the letters with Zigs and a white gel pen in the style of the French flag.  The word was masked, I stamped the top part of  the Eiffel Tower cake (Shirley B’s World Cakes by STAMPlorations), and added Stickles to the candle flame.  The tiny SSS supplementary  sentiment finished it off.  The panel was popped up onto the base card on craft foam … the base had been stamped with Papertrey stripes some time ago for a project that didn’t work quite as I’d hoped … seemed to go rather well here!

Feel like giving your fingers some creative exercise?  We’d love for you to join us!  This fortnight we’re sponsored by STAMPlorations … not only did the very generous Shery provide the DT with lovely goodies to play with (thanks so much, Shery!) … she’s also giving away a US$10 gift voucher to our winner (as voted for by the DT) … and an ARTplorations stencil to a randomly drawn participant who uses the Mixed Media twist!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of fabulous inspiration from our amazing DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Patti at Stationery Styles (if you don’t know Patti, do go for a visit … her blog is filled with delicious cards for you to meander around!)

My French celebration is heading over to …

CASology – Masculine

The Paper Players – Cherry Cobbler, Dapper Denim, Whisper White (my closest colours!)

SSS Monday – World Traveller

Time Out DT #52 Mid Challenge Reminder, Seven Hills Crafts – March, The Paper Players #287

Hello … bonjour!  Have you played along with our latest challenge at Time Out yet?  We have a ‘Designer to CASE’ theme this time round … our designer is the talented Marjan Kuppers from M@rjan’s Blog … and her gorgeous card is a little further down.  Here’s where I went with it this week …

Time Out DT 52RTime Outand here’s Marjan‘s lovely card …

My card features the same fabulous colours and floral theme as Marjan‘s … with added dimension from the die cuts and a touch of whimsical style.  I stamped and die cut some blooms and leaves from WPlus9‘s Doodle Buds, coloured them with Promarkers and added some white gel pen accents.  The stems and middle leaves were stamped direct to the card base and were coloured with Zigs.  The scalloped frame started out as a full panel (Winnie & Walter) … I just used a craft knife and ruler to cut out the middle to create the frame.  I popped up the frame, flowers and single leaves on foam tape over the stamping, white heat embossed the sentiment (from the same WPlus9 set) onto a black snippet of card and adhered it to the edge of the frame.

If you haven’t played along with us yet, how about giving it a go … or if you already have, how about second helpings?  You can use any or all of the elements in Marjan‘s card to inspire you … and we’d love to see what you create!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of fabulous ideas from our wonderful DT.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

My card was also inpired by …

MFT Colour Challenge #34, The Paper Players #273, SSS Wednesday 25/11

Hello … bonjour!  Hope those of you who celebrated had a wonderful Thanksgiving … and that the left overs are still plentiful and delicious!  Crafting has been taking a bit of a back seat for me recently, but that moment arrived when I simply had to have a little card making fun …

MFT Colour #34, PP 273, SSSW 25-11This sweet MFT snowman was stamped at the Lake House last year (thanks, Bev!) … he’s been in hibernation, patiently waiting to get into the limelight until recently, when he shuffled out onto my desk looking for some company.  His moment of stardom had arrived!  He was coloured with Promarkers and highlighted with Wink of Stella … was set amidst gently falling sparkly snowflakes (courtesy of a stencil from SSS) … and is holding a shimmery, shiny, sweet heart to give away at Christmas.  The sentiment is from SSS … I stamped the lower part first, cut the word into the panel and from black craft foam, and pieced it all back together.  I sponged the edges of the card base and mounted the snowman panel flat against it.  How would you like a look at all his splendid shimmeriness …

MFT Colour #34, PP 273, SSSW 25-11 Detail The observant among you will notice that Monsieur Snowman’s nose is pink rather than the traditional orange … let me explain.  Snowman here is a bit of an individualist and insisted that his ensemble include a little something out of the ordinary … he thought the pink carrot (and they are available!) would do just fine … and would go rather nicely with the pink heart.  It worked for me … the colour palette at MFT included pink and not orange, so I was more than happy to let him have his way (but don’t let him know that, he’d become impossible!).

Monsieur Snowman was inspired by …

MFT Colour Challenge – After Midnight, Field Green, Sweet Tooth, Tickled Pink

The Paper Players – Tic Tac Toe (I chose Snowflake, Sparkle or Shine, Punch or Die Cut)

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

I’ve not had chance to do much visiting this week, so there are lots of lovely cards waiting for me in my Feedly list … off for some wonderful inspiration!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #44 Mid Challenge Reminder, CAS-ual Fridays #145, The Paper Players #271, SSS Wednesday 18/11

Hello!  We’re half way through our ‘CASE … With Your Own Twist’ challenge over at Time Out, where our designer, the amazingly talented Karen, has given us a gorgeous masked and sponged, wonderfully crisp CAS card … it’s a little further down.  This week, for your inspirational delight, I strayed a little from the original …

Time Out DT 44RTime Out

Here’s Karen‘s original and delicious card …

See what I mean about straying?  It’s not as far off Karen‘s card as it first appears … mine still has a masked off panel, an image within the sponged area, some splatter and plenty of glorious white space!  I taped off the bottom of a white card panel, stamped the WPlus9 polar bear (which was covered with a trimmed out post it mask) and sponged over him with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, using a circle mask made from an MFT die.  The SSS star was silver heat embossed, I added some silver splatters and then removed the tape from the bottom of the panel.  The sentiment (made from Lawn Fawn‘s Milo’s ABCs) was stamped into the space, which was edged with slender strips of glittery washi tape (that little guy had to be sitting on something!).  A scattering of stars was added around the sentiment, the polar bear got a single star of his own to hold, and I popped the panel up on the card base on craft foam.

How would you like to play along with us … you can use any or all of the elements in Karen‘s card to inspire you … and we’d love to see what you create!  There are plenty of ideas available over at the Time Out blog, from our fabulously talented Guest Designer, Jen from I Create and from our own wonderful DT!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

My polar bear is heading over to these three challenges …
