It’s time for another fabulous challenge at Time Out … our theme this fortnight is CASE with your own twist. Our designer to CASE is the amazing Heather Telford, who has given us this wonderful, glowing, autumnal, leafy scene as our inspiration …
and here’s my take on it …
I love Heather‘s use of the the leaves and colour to create that fabulous warm glow, so focussed on those elements for my card, with an embossed twist. On a white panel, I stamped and white heat embossed the leaves from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, and sponged over five colours of ink (the changing shades of autumn). The Waltzing Mouse Stamps ‘Warmed by your friendship’ sentiment was stamped onto vellum and heat embossed. I coloured the vellum on the back, cut it into a banner and wrapped it round one side of the panel. The base card was masked and sponged with olive green, and the leaf panel was popped up on foam dots over it.
So, wouldn’t you just love to CASE Heather‘s card … and add your own twist? To get those creative juices flowing, there’s a whole raft of gorgeous inspiration over at Time Out, from our amazingly talented and delightful Guest Designer, Carol (Just Me:C) and the fabulous Design Team … go for a visit and you’ll see what I mean! I do hope you’ll find some time to have fun and play along … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
Thanks so, so much for your lovely, uplifting and heart warming comments on my Getting To Know You Blog Hop post … they had me smiling all over my face :). You may have noticed there was a bit of a glaring gap in it … I didn’t put in any photo’s of my own cards, or links to them (goodness only knows where my brain was)! It’s thanks to the delightful Darnell, who spotted it, that I’ve now filled said gap and added some of my own card highlights to the post … and if you’d like to see them, they’re here. So, onto today’s card, which is the one I mentioned on Monday …
The Waltzing Mouse Simple Sprig leaves were inked up with two colours … teal zeal and tide pool … on their own, one was too dark and one was too light … in between was just right (to paraphrase Goldilocks). I did a little selective masking to add a third sprig (far left), stamped the flowers and die cut them with MFT circles. The flowers were treated to sparkle and shine courtesy of Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents (yep, yesterdays fave products!) and were popped up on foam dots. I stamped the WPlus9 sentiment in chocolate (which also had a coat of WOS) and added a sprinkling of bling. Here’s a close up so you can see the shimmer …
I took Kimberly’s Muse card (here) as inspiration for my card … but missed playing along by oh, about three days! I am, however, in plenty of time for these challenges …
Virginia’s View – Clean and Simple
Waltzingmouse Fanatics – Anything Goes
Keep It Simple – Three (sprigs and words)
Looking forward to an inspiring wander around the blogosphere over the next couple of days … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
Here’s the first of the two cards I mentioned earlier …
I took a panel of textured cardstock, sponged it with Distress Inks, splattered it with water drops (and droplets!) and let it dry. It was then stamped and white embossed with Walzingmouse Funky Feathers … and I elongated the quills at the bottom with a white gel pen so they would cross. The Avery Elle sentiment was also stamped and white embossed over the edges of the panel, I added a couple of sequins and popped the panel up on the card base.
I’m linking this card up to …
CASology – Float (feathers float in the air … and the panel is ‘floating’ on the base!)
Keep It Simple – Lots of Turquoise (errrmmm … yes??)
Waltzingmouse Fanatics – Anything Goes (do check out this challenge run by Tara and Deborah … a perfect reason to dig out your WM Stamps!)
SSS Monday – W Is For White (feathers, sentiment, base)
Hope you’ve had/are having a wonderful (long … for my friends in the USA) weekend! Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends who are celebrating today … wishing you a very special day surrounded by those you love and care for! Actually, I wish that for those of you not celebrating too … taking time out to give thanks for our blessings is always good … so I will … for all the joy you bring me through your friendship, humour and warmth … a heartfelt thank you, I’m so blessed to be part of this wonderful community 🙂
My card today is a Christmas one … not surprisingly, it’s just about the most favorite theme of the moment, so I’ve done just a little combining. At Waltzingmouse Fanatics, Deborah and Tara have set quite a toughie of a challenge … to create a Christmas card using non-Christmas themed images … phew! Luckily, over at Less is More, Chrissie and Jen came to the inspiration rescue as they’re asking for a Christmas card including a bird … mmm … seems to me that could be a non-Christmas image. Lastly, at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday, there’s an Anything Goes week, so I’m linking up there too.
ETA: Simon Says Stamp Monday’s theme this week is Countdown to the Holidays … a countdown of any kind to Christmas (including how many cards still to make!) … so I’m playing along there too.
On an aqua pearl card panel, I stamped the image, embossed it in white and then re-stamped and clear glitter embossed it … I wanted to create the impression of a frost laden tree. The birds were stamped, trimmed out, coated with Glossy Accents and once dry, they flew off to perch in the tree. I stamped and white embossed the sentiment and then
frosted glittered the strip along the bottom. The gems were the final touch, before the panel was mounted on a white base.
I’m looking forward to a wander round later on to see what everyone else has been inspired to create. Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments really are a delight! Anita 🙂
I’m starting with a big THANK YOU tonight … to Kimberley for choosing this card as the winner at CASology yesterday … I’m sooo honoured and thrilled … thank you so much! Thank you also to everyone for all your encouraging words afterwards … I truly appreciate it! 🙂
My card is for a truckload of challenges. It started off with One Layer Wednesday, where uber talented Ardyth is the host this week and has asked for holiday cards without red or green. Then I found a new-ish challenge for fans of Waltzingmouse Stamps (separate from Claire’s blog and with her blessing) called Waltzingmouse Fanatics, where there’s a ‘Storm Colours’ theme. If you’re a WMS fan, and you haven’t been over there yet, do pop in for a visit … and maybe play along … there’s still a little time left. The new CASology cue card was released today (Triangle) … and as my mega talented and sweet friend Geri from Manitoba Stamper is the GD, I couldn’t possibly miss it (and so soon too … it’s not even Saturday!). I’m squeezing in my final entry to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Keep it CAS) before it closes in a few hours and last but not least, I’m linking up at Simon Says Stamp Monday for the Got Ink? challenge. Phew! Here, at last after all that, is my card …
The images and sentiment are all WMS. I stamped the (triangular … ish) trees and the garlands over them in silver, masking off where needed. Then the sweeping stars were stamped using the same garlands stamp and a mask, and all the silver was embossed to give it shine and sparkle. I added the greeting and finished off with a couple of scored lines to ‘ground’ the trees. Now I look at it, maybe the sweeping stars on the left should’ve been further down, it would’ve been more balanced. What d’you think?
Time for bed (doesn’t that come round just too quickly!) … thanks so much for calling by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
