Time Out DT #79, Addicted to CAS #106, SSS Monday -13 March, SSS Wednesday – 15 March, SSS Work It Wednesday – February

Hello … bonjour!  What a wonderful gallery you created for us to admire and enjoy during our 3rd birthday celebrations at Time Out … and what lovely comments you left … thank you so much!  Do come by the Time Out blog next Wednesday to see if you are the winner of any of our fabulous prizes!  In the meantime, I’m hopping in with a sweet little number to entice you to play along with us this fortnight.  We have a CASE the Designer challenge this time round … our designer is the uber talented, super creative, out-of-the-box thinking Jenny from Crafting In The Country.  If you’ve never visited Jenny, you really need to … you’ll be more than wow’d by her awesome projects!  Her wonderful, whimsical card is below … here’s my take on it …

Time Outand here’s Jenny‘s little spring cutie …

My eye was drawn to the sponged background, the stitched panel and the delicious whimsical style … so that’s where I went with my card.  Serendipitously, Jennifer McGuire (in this video) prompted me to use masked inking to create a little scene.  I stamped one of the bunnies from Verve‘s Hip Hop Bunnies onto a piece of white card, coloured him with Promarkers, added a little doodling (gave him inner ears and a smile) and fussy cut him out.  The same bunny was stamped onto a Winnie & Walter die cut panel … and he was masked, as was the bottom portion of the panel, so that the Distress Ink grass could be sponged on (Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn).  I kept the bunny mask in place, masked off the top portion of the panel, and softly blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create the sky.  Surgery was performed on the sentiment stamp (from the same Verve set) so the hi could be stamped below the supporting words in a different colour.  The fussy cut bunny was popped up on foam dots onto the panel, he had Spectrum Noir clear sparkle applied to his inner ears, nose and tummy … and Glossy Accents added to his nose.  He’d have been hopping if I’d had an action wobbler!  I doodled the grassy tufts and tiny daisies (coloured with a white gel pen and a yellow Promarker) onto the meadow … and sprinkled some sequins and a few dots of Glossy Accents to finish off.

Where will Jenny‘s card take your creative imagination … there’s so much delicious detailing to choose from … we’d love for you to play along!  This fortnight, we’re sponsored by Verve (thanks so much, Julee) … our overall winner (as voted for by the DT) will receive a Verve stamp set of their choice … and will also be invited to design with us in a future challenge.  There’s a special post from Julee over at the Verve blog … including a CASE of Jenny‘s card to inspire you.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with a whole heap of wonderful ideas from our fabulous DT … and from our amazingly talented Guest Designer, my lovely friend Isabelle from Izzy Scrap.   If you haven’t already dropped in on Isabelle, do go … enjoy all the gorgeousness … take a picnic, you’ll be a while!

My little bunny is hopping over to …

Addicted to CAS – Doodle … the bunny detailing and the grass/daisies in the meadow.

SSS Monday – Handmade Flowers … mine are hand doodled … hope that counts!

SSS Wednesday – Bit o’ Green … the meadow

Time Out DT #78, Addicted to Stamps & More #251, Inkspirational #129, SSS Monday – 27 February, SSS Work It Wednesday – February, The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge – March

Hello … bonjour!  It’s party time!  We’re celebrating at Time Out today … and for the next two weeks as it’s our 3rd birthday!  We have a delicious challenge for you (of course!) … and we also have lots of lovely prizes up for grabs, thanks to our generous sponsors (see below).  The theme for our birthday celebration is Love and/or Friendship … and there’s an optional technique twist of Spotlight Stamping.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-78Time OutI repeatedly stamped a white card panel with a floral/leafy cluster from Papertrey (Doodlie Do) in grey.  The centrepiece was coloured with Promarkers and I added the Waltzingmouse Stamps (sadly no longer operating) sentiment in black.  The coloured cluster was die cut from the panel and adhered direct to the card base, and I popped the panel up over it on craft foam.  I hadn’t intended to use any embellishments as it’s already a ‘full’ card for me, though after seeing it again here, I may just have to add a little bling to those blooms before it’s sent off in the mail!

Where will our theme take your creative imagination this fortnight?  We’d love to have you share in our celebrations … and to see what you come up with in our gallery!  As I mentioned above, there are prizes galore … just take a look at our fabulous sponsors …       … some of whom are celebrating along with us.  There are special posts over at STAMPlorations, Uniko, Happy Little Stampers and Verve, including cards to inspire you from members of their Design Teams … you don’t want to miss seeing the delights on offer!

All the details about the challenge and the prizes are over at the Time Out blog, along with lots of gorgeous inspiration from our fantastic DT and from our wonderful Guest Designer, (and fellow BABES), the uber talented Ardyth (yes, she of Maskerade!).  If, by some remote possibility, you’ve never visited Ardyth, (or even if you have!) don’t wait … go now … and drink in all the deliciousness over on her blog … you’ll love it!  Do hope you’ll join us for the party!

I couldn’t leave without saying a huge birthday congratulations and thank you to Sandie and Nonni, our fearless leaders at Time Out, for their unending energy, enthusiasm, creativity and hard work … we wouldn’t be here without you ladies … you’re such stars!  Also, a big thank you to my fellow Design Team members past and present … your talent has always and will always inspire me!   Finally, to our players … for sharing your consistently fabulous cards with us in our gallery … it’s a delight to visit you and see how you interpret our themes … thank you!

My card is heading over to …

Addicted to Stamps & More – Anything Goes

Inkspirational – Connect … mine’s that special connection between friends

SSS Monday – Based on a Book … The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

SSS Work it Wednesday – Use the Word/Colour Green

Time Out DT #77, Happy Little Stampers Dies – February, SSS Monday – 13 February, SSS Wednesday 15 February, SSS Work It Wednesday – January

Hello … bonjour … it’s been a while!  I’ve not been around in blogland for most of this month as the vast majority of my time and energy has been taken up with all things restoration related.  So, no card making and, I’m really sorry to say, no commenting either … though I have been popping in for quick views of your creations when it’s been possible.  There was a plan to catch up … though as each day passed, still with only 24 hours in it, it became clear it wasn’t going to work!  My apologies 😦   Life has started to calm down a little now … and I’m looking forward to a return to normal service!  What better way to start then than with our next fabulous challenge at Time Out?  This fortnight, we have a fun and cute ‘Home Sweet Home’ inspiration picture to inspire you (below) … here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-77Time Out… and here’s the sweet inspiration …

I was taken with the field of flowers at the bottom right (above the waves) on this amazing wall mural … and by the whimsical style.  On a white card panel, I stamped and heat embossed the blooms from Stamplorations’ Bees’ Knees Folk Flowers set (thanks so much Shery!) … and set about colouring them with crayons.  I’ve not been sure about diving into the crayons trend at all, so got some local supermarket ones to try out and see if they’re my thing … the jury’s still out on that for now!  Anyway, when the colouring was done, I cut a ‘hill’ with a SSS die, stamped an Avery Elle sentiment onto it, and ran it and the coloured panel through my Cuttlebug with a Winnie & Walter stitched scalloped frame die.  The curved sentiment strip was popped up on craft foam onto the flower panel, which was in turn adhered flat to an inked edged card base.  I finished with a little doodling to add to the whimsical style of these fun blooms.

There’s so much to be inspired by in this photo … houses, trees, flowers, rainbows, birds, sea life … the world’s your oyster (tee hee … pun intended!) … where does your imagination take you?  We’d love to see!  This time round we’re sponsored by Stamplorations … our winner will receive a $10 GC, as well as the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a whole raft of delicious card ideas from our wonderful DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Andrea from KandA Creative Moments  (do go along for a visit with Andrea, there’s heaps to see and enjoy over there!).

I’m playing along at …

Time Out DT #76, Addicted to Stamps & More #227, CAS-ual Fridays #166, Darnell’s NBUS #10, SSS Wednesday – 1 February, SSS Work It Wednesday – January

Hello … bonjour!  We’re starting a lovely new challenge at Time Out today … we’re ‘Inspired By Words’ … friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can’t break them apart.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-76Time Out

I stamped and white heat embossed the treble clef (thanks to Michele at CAS-ual Fridays) onto a watercolour panel, painted around the outside of it with various Zig Brush Markers, added water, and allowed the colours to blend into one another.  Once it was dry, I embossed the stave with a stylus, stamped that fabulous sentiment (from the same set as the clef) above it and popped the panel up on craft foam onto the card base.   A trio of Glossy Accent-ed die cut hearts finished it off.

Where will our words take you this fortnight?  You can use all or any of them to inspire you … we’d love to see your card in our gallery.  Our sponsor this time around is CAS-ual Fridays … our winner, as chosen by the the DT, will win a $25 GC and will also be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of creative ideas from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer,  Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts.  Do go and meander around Jane’s wonderful blog … there’s heaps of delicious CAS-ness to enjoy!

Time Out DT #75, Darnell’s NBUS Challenge #8, Where Creativity Meets C9 #5, Happy Little Stampers Dies – January

Hello … bonjour!  We have a CASE the Designer challenge for you this fortnight at Time Out … and our designer is the amazingly talented Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Ksenija’s delicious card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-75Time Outand here’s Ksenija‘s CAS delight …

The pops of bright colour and whimsical style of Ksenija‘s card really caught my eye, so that’s what I focussed on for my CASE.  I used Concord & 9th’s Wildflowers set, randomly stamped onto a stitched card panel, and coloured the leaves and flowers with Zigs.  The panel was adhered over craft foam onto a grey card base and I added a Concord & 9th sentiment, popped up on foam tape, to finish off.

What draws your attention on Ksenija‘s card … the CAS-ness, the tone on tone background, those vibrant colours … or something else?  You can use any or all of the elements that Ksenija used for your card … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of wonderful inspiration from our amazing DT, and from our fabulous Guest Designer, Marjan from Marjan’s Blog (do go over for a visit … there’s so much loveliness to see!).

I’m playing along at

Darnell’s NBUS Challenge – Anything Goes … all but one of my stamps are NBUS

Time Out DT #74, CASology #230, Less Is More #309, Simon Says Stamp

Hello … bonjour!   Our first challenge of 2017 starts today at Time Out … our theme is ‘Winter’ … with the option of ‘White on White’ (only using white except a neutral for the sentiment).  Here’s how I interpreted the theme …

time-out-dt-74  Time Out

A lovely friend (thanks Judith!) sent me some of these aptly named Dazzling Snowflake die cuts (from Memory Box) … and to me this snowflake says winter in a most delicious way!  I trimmed down the panel that it was cut into, backed it with white vellum, stamped the Winnie & Walter sentiment in Delicata Silver, added the dots with a silver gel pen and popped on some clear bling.  There’s a sentiment inside, also W&W, that reads ‘a bright, brilliant birthday’.  I wanted to find a way of allowing the light to shine through the vellum, so I cut a square into the card base leaving a border around the edge, added foam tape over the remaining space, and adhered the snowflake panel over the top.  I used a ruler and craft knife … before thinking that it could have been done with a circular or square die, which would have been slightly more straightforward … ho hum, next time!  Want to see what it looks like with the light behind it?  Voilà …

time-out-dt-74-detailBet you already know what a tricky shot that was to get!

So … what ideas is your creative brain already working on for ‘Winter’?  We’d love to see what you come up with in our gallery.  If you choose to use the option of ‘White on White’, you could win a £15 GC from Uniko in our random draw … and as usual, our overall winner, as voted for by the DT, will be invited to be our Guest Designer in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with tons of inspiration from our wonderful DT and our fabulous and talented returning Guest Designer, Claire from Life on the Scrap Heap (who you need to visit if you haven’t already … lots of loveliness to explore!).

I’m sending my snowflake along to play at …

CASology – Cold

Less Is More – Dimension

SSS Monday – Start Afresh (new sentiment set from W&W)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (as above)

SSS Work It Wednesday – Something New with New Product (also as above)

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #73, CAS Mix Up – December, CAS-ual Fridays #163, Happy Little Stampers – December, SSS Wednesday – 21 December, SSS Work It Wednesday – November

Hello … bonjour!  Today we start the last challenge of the year at Time Out … this fortnight, we’re Inspired By Words … ‘With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning’.  To me, this is a perfect phrase for Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of the Infant Jesus,  the Son of God, who came to the world to give us all a new beginning in Him … here’s my card …  time-out-dt-73Time Out

My Christmas Day sunrise is made up of a blend of five sponged Distress Inks, sprayed and splattered with Shimmer Spritz.  The die cuts are from Concord & 9th‘s Holy Night Bundle … they were adhered flat to the inked card base and the star was covered with a generous coat of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  I finished off with the sentiment, also from the same bundle, stamped in Delicata Gold ink, to match all the other sparkle.

Where will these lovely words take you this fortnight?  You can use any or all of them to inspire a card … we’d love to see your take in the gallery!  We’re sponsored by STAMPlorations this fortnight … our winner will win a £20 GC and our two HMs will each receive a $10 GC.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of creative ideas from our fabulous DT and our talented Guest Designer,  Marina from My Perfect Life.  Do go and have a wander around Marina’s fun and creative blog … there’s lots of loveliness to enjoy!

I’m playing along with …

CAS Mix Up – Stamping + Sponging + Choice (Die Cutting)

CAS-ual Fridays – Christmas or Hanukkah

Happy Little Stampers Dies – Anything Goes

SSS Wednesday – Make It Sparkle

SSS Work It Wednesday – Die Cuts
