Time Out DT #72, Addicted to CAS #102, CASology #227, The Flower Challenge #3

Hello … bonjour!  Long time no see!  It’s not that I haven’t been making cards … I have … lots of them, for Christmas.  That’s what’s kept me away from blogging over the past fortnight or so … and away from staying up to date with all your goings on too.  I’m here today to introduce you to our delicious new challenge at Time Out … this fortnight, our theme is CASE The Designer  … and the fabulous designer we’re CASEing is one of my fellow BABES … the amazingly talented Kim Heggins from Cupcakes, Cards & KimKim‘s delightful, whimsical card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-72Time Out

and here’s Kim‘s inspiration …

You can see what took my eye can’t you??  I love Kim‘s card … as well as this Neat & Tangled set (that hasn’t seen ink for a while) … so was delighted to be inspired by the the colours and style.   I changed a few things … limiting the stamping to the bottom half of my card, keeping it one layer, and changing the orientation from portrait to landscape (to accommodate that lovely big MFT sentiment).  Oh, and there’s some WoS shimmer on the flower heads (of course!).

What captures your creative imagination in Kim‘s card … the bold colours, the whimsical style, the layout, all that glorious white space … or something else?  Whatever it is and however you’re inspired, we’d love it if you played along with us and linked up to our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of ideas from our wonderful DT, and from our talented Guest Designer, Deepti from Vishesh Collections (do go for a lovely wander … you’ll have such a fun time!).

I’m playing along at …

Addicted to CAS – Congratulations … ATCAS is celebrating their 4th birthday … congratulations to Kylie and the team!

CASology – Space … all that glorious white stuff!

The Flower Challenge – Use An Older Stamp, Die or Stencil … haven’t been card making long enough to have old, old stamps, but this is one of my more mature ones!

Hope all your Christmas card making is going along wonderfully … and that you’ll be coasting into the festive season with ease and calm!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #71, Where Creativity Meets C9 #3, Seven Hills Crafts – November, SSS Wednesday 23 November, Uniko – November

Hello … bonjour … and to my friends in the US … Happy Thanksgiving!  I wish you a day blessed with joy and filled with the love and laughter of family and friends!  Today marks the start of a lovely new challenge at Time Out … this time our theme is ‘Christmas’ … with an optional twist of using glitter or shimmer.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-71Time OutI sponged the card base with three Distress Inks, blending them around where the die cut figure would be, then spritzed and splattered the finished background with Shimmer Spray.  The Concord & 9th star and Madonna with the Infant Jesus was cut out of the same card as the base, I stamped the sentiment in navy, and adhered the die cuts flat to the base.  This is one of the designs I worked on at the Lake House … there’s a lot more shimmer on it IRL than appears here … a closer look gives you a better idea but it’s even more shimmery than this shows …

time-out-dt-71-detailHow about playing along with us … we’d love it if you did!  For those who twist and use glitter or shimmer, there’ll be a random draw for a £15 evoucher from our sponsor this fortnight, the lovely Bev at Uniko … and as usual, the winner, as voted for by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us for a future challenge!  There’s lots of inspiration over at the Time Out blog, from our fabulous Design Team and from our talented Guest Designer, Valentyna from Flourishtina (who you need to visit if you haven’t … so many gorgeous cards and creativity to inspire you!).  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Time Out DT #70,

Hello … bonjour!  We have another fabulous challenge starting at Time Out this morning … this fortnight, we have a soft, feminine Home Sweet Home inspiration picture for you … I stretched our card challenge a smidge and went with something a little different for my take …time-out-dt-70Time Out and here’s the inspiration …

Can you tell my focus was on the flowers, those delicate pinks, creams and greens and the frame on the wall?  I stamped a panel of textured cardstock with Concord & 9th‘s wildflowers, coloured the blooms with alcohol markers and added the quote over the top using letters from Concord & 9th’s Sophisticated Script.  The panel was trimmed to size (13 x 17 cm/5.25 x 6.75 inches) and I mounted it in a woodgrain frame, which can stand on a table or be hung on a wall.  The finished picture has  been packaged (very well!) and hopefully has reached it’s destination … it’s for a lovely friend who is in the throes of a craft room remodel … I thought the quote was appropriate for her new creative space!

What takes your eye in this photo … there’s so much to take in … the pastel colours, the soft cushions, that ornate sofa, the gold wings … or something else, as I did?  Whatever it is, we’d love you to be inspired enough to make a card and link it up to our gallery.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with heaps of ideas from our fabulous DT and our lovely Guest Designer, Hazel from Hazel’s Paper Designs (you need to go visit if you don’t know Hazel … you’ll be wonderfully inspired browsing round her delicious blog!).  Hope to see you there!

Time Out DT #69, SSS Wednesday 25/10, Simplicity Thankgiving Campaign 2016

Hello … bonjour!  I’m starting today with a big thank you … to everyone who visited and/or left me sweet words following our BABES 2 Lake House adventure … I so appreciate each one of you!  Serendipitously, our new challenge starting today at Time Out is one that’s inspired by words, which are … Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart.  So that’s what I’m doing with today’s card … giving thanks for all of you 🙂 …

time-out-dt-69Time OutA jolly almost-one-layer card, stamped with Neat & Tangled‘s Scandinavian Prints (courtesy of Bev).  Little maids all in a row … with a white embossed sentiment banner (same set) over a strip of washi tape (thanks to Darnell).  The washi is a perfect match for the stamped blooms … and I’d have liked to show it to you in all it’s wonderful glory.  However, no matter how I tried, I just couldn’t find a way of doing it without detracting from those frilly flowers … and on top of that, it is rather retiring!  Apologies!

Where will our lovely words take you this fortnight?  You can use any or all of them to inspire a card … we’d love to see your take in the gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with creative cards galore from our fabulous DT and our wonderfully talented Guest Designer,  Karren from Stamping Stuff.  Do go and have a meander through Karren’s fun and fabulous blog … you’ll have a fantastic time … and will come away so inspired!

Time Out DT #68, CAS on Sunday #93, CAS-ual Fridays #158, Simplicity Thankgiving Campaign 2016, The Flower Challenge #1

Hello … bonjour!  We have a CASE the Designer challenge for you this fortnight at Time Out … and our designer is the amazingly talented Ardyth from Maskerade (yes, really!).  Ardyth’s fabulous card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-68Time Out… and here’s Ardyth‘s floral delight …

My card is one layer, stamped with all but one image from Concord & 9th‘s Painted Thank You set.  I did the sentiment first, then randomly added the blooms (three reds) and leaves (two greens) around it.  The painted stripe at the bottom and the flower centres were embossed in gold, and I scattered some stamped dot clusters in the open spaces, to pick up on Ardyth‘s black frame.  Voilà!

What grabs your attention on Ardyth‘s card … sentiment, colours, florals, shimmery gold, the technique … or something else?  You can use any or all of the elements that Ardyth used for your card … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of lovely inspiration from our amazing DT, and from our fabulous Guest Designer, Marina from My Perfect Life (who you need to visit if you haven’t already … there’s so much deliciousness on offer)!

Time Out DT #67 – Mid Challenge Reminder

Hello … bonjour!  I’m popping in with a scheduled post (it’s busy so I’m not around much!) … and a card to remind you that our latest challenge at Time Out still has almost a week to run.  Our theme is a special one as it’s October … it’s Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship … with the optional twist of using pink and/or embossing.  Here’s my second take on it …

time-out-dt-67rTime Out

The CAS-ual Fridays blooms were stamped onto a white card panel, coloured with Promarkers and coated with Wink of Stella.  I trimmed the panel smaller then the image and fussy cut round the flower heads so they hang over the edges (thanks to the amazing Therese at Lost in Paper for that yummy idea!).  The base card was masked and sponged with black to provide a frame for the flower panel, which was popped up on craft foam.  I die cut a Papertrey sentiment out of card and black foam, ombré coloured the card one with Promarkers and coated it in with Wink of Stella.  It was adhered over the panel with the  overhanging letters mounted on the black foam.  I finished off by stamping the secondary sentiment (Papertrey and SSS) and adding some enamel accents to it and to the flower centres.

Our challenge this time round is being sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays.  Many of you will know of the fundraising and other fabulous work that Michele (owner and breast cancer survivor) is doing to raise awareness of the importance of early detection in fighting breast cancer … and of her Calling All Sistahs campaign and monthly blog posts reminding all of us to do our own self exams.  Michele will be offering the overall winner a $25 GC … and for a randomly drawn player who uses pink and embossing, there’ll be a prize package from the Calling All Sistahs collection.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of inspiration from our fantastic DT and our lovely and super talented Guest Designer, Coni from Which Craft (if you didn’t visit last week … what are you waiting for … go and enjoy all the deliciousness on offer!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

As I mentioned earlier, life’s a bit full at the moment so I’m not around in blogland much.  Will be … there’s soooo much inspiration in my Feedly list just now … looking forward!  Thanks so much for coming by … your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #67, AAA Cards #74, Addicted to CAS #97, Less Is More #295, SSS Monday – 26 September, SSS Wednesday – 28 September

Hello … bonjour!  Welcome to a wonderful new challenge at Time Out, where this fortnight we’re helping to focus attention on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Our theme is Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship … with the optional twist of using pink and/or embossing … here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-67Time Out

The CAS-ual Fridays flowers were stamped onto a watercolour card panel and heat embossed in silver.  I coloured the background with Zigs, drawing out the colour from around the flowers … and when the panel was dry, I masked the flower heads and added a few silver splatters.  The sentiment (also CAS-ual Fridays) was stamped and heat embossed onto a slip of vellum … which was then hand sewn onto a stitched scalloped frame with silver thread.  I popped the frame up on foam tape over the watercolour panel and adhered it all onto the card base on a piece of craft foam.  This is on it’s way to a friend who has had a tough time medically this year … it might even have arrived by now … hope it has before she sees this!
