I have a couple of things to share with you today … this card is the first …
I missed the last challenge at One Layer Wednesday, so I’m really pleased to be able to play along this week. Karen is the host and her challenge is Cheers … create a card with some kind of drink on it. The urgency needed for Friday’s under-10-minute card has clearly hung around till today as this one turned out to be another ultra quick creation … and so it should be really, it’s so very simple … image, scored border, stamped sentiment linked with a second line border … job done!
Now (as the phrase goes) for something completely different …
This year, our lavender plants grew like never before and were full, full, full of flowers … the scent released when brushing past them was wonderful. I thought it’d be nice to try to preserve a little of that kind of ‘hazy lazy days of summer’ scent, so a few weeks ago I harvested the flowers and they’ve been waiting in our now beautifully fragranced fridge for me to use them! As it’s not been too busy on the challenge front over the past few days, I’ve used a few quiet moments to make up some sweet little lavender sachets and we’ve been sending them out to family and friends as surprise gifts for New Year … after all, no-one thinks they’re going to get any more packages once Santa’s been! Here are some photos …
For your surprise New Year gift and for your olfactory delectation (what?), I’ve added a ‘scratch and sniff’ feature to the top photo (a bit like doing a link really), so go ahead and give it a go and breathe in that lovely aroma!!
Hope you’re having a glorious weekend … thanks so much for coming by and especially so if you’ve had time to leave a comment below, it’s a joy to read them! Anita 🙂

Love all that white on your card with just the little pop of color and your lavender sachets are just beautiful. I love the smell of lavender.
Love the double border on the card, Anita, and the aroma from the lavender sachets is wonderful. Scratch and sniff – clever you 😉
Wonderful CAS card! LOVE your gift idea — I bet those smell marvelous! Off to peruse your blog…
First things first. I love the simplicity of your card, with the double border. But WHAT? on the scratch and sniff – really? Lavender always reminds me of my grandma, who wore Yardley’s Old Lavender. Happy New Year, Anita!
great card Anita…I also love the double border….
Thanks so much for playing along with the OLW this week…Happy New Year.
hugs,
Karen
Clean and simple, perfectly executed OLW card. Adore the scored frame paired with a hand drawn frame, with the sentiment sweetly tucked amidst both! Scratch ‘n Sniff…..just about got me to scratch my computer monitor! (I probably shouldn’t admit to that) Such a beautiful gesture from someone who is truly a thoughtful, caring person! I can just imagine how thrilled the recipients will be when a package of such delight arrives after Christmas! Love the polka dot wrap and pretty sheer bow. Beautiful presentation.
