Time Out DT #32 Mid-Challenge Reminder, Simply Create Too #86, SSS Monday 1/6

We’re mid way through our Designer to CASE challenge at Time Out, where we’re CASE-ing the amazing Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia … with our own twist.  Deepti inspiration card is a little lower down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 32RTime Out

and here’s Deepti‘s original …

With this week’s card, I strayed from Deepti’s overall look, while still keeping similar design elements.  I chose to go clean and layered … and used the idea of the angle and the DP in my striped strip, picked the purple/plum/lavender colours from the flowers (mine are from Avery Elle) and kept the placement of the sentiment (from PTI) in the lower half of the card.  There’s even a nod to the black in the DP and bling!  My twist (again!) was all that yummy white space.

Where does Deepti’s card take your imagination … flowers, DP, angled panels, bold black, embossing … just let it meander!  Deepti has recently illustrated her first stamps (Blooming Buds), which have been released through Stamplorations … and is going to be giving away a set to the winner of this challenge (as chosen by the DT) … how generous!  In addition, and as usual, the winner will get the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … so will you play along?  We’d love to have you!  There’s inspiration galore over at the Time Out blog … from our wonderful DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Maura whose Splitcoast Gallery is chock full of fabulous cards … definitely worth a slow wander to drink in all the loveliness!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

Simply Create Too – Keep It Simple

SSS Monday – Royal (those luscious purples … colours of royalty)

My good intentions about dealing with the Time Eating Monster were thwarted this week … by the Heavy Cold Monster that took a strong grip and wouldn’t let go!  Yesterday, though I started catching up with my catching up … it’ll take a while, but I will see you before too long!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

My thinking cap is still on with this CASE Anita… LOve your fresh eyes on it! Take good care of yourself… give that Monster a good kick in the germs – my mom always made this wonderful syrup of honey, lemon, and whiskey … gee I wonder why we liked it? Spoonful? Yeah, right!

So sorry to hear you have been under the weather, Anita! Hope you are feeling better! Your card is fantastic with all that white linen space, yet it is clearly inspired by Deepti’s card! You really made it your own!

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather. I know how that goes, and what upsets me most about being ill, is that I don’t have the energy to craft, lol!! Love what you’ve done here. Such an inspiration; makes me want to make another card (time permitting). The bit of b&w dp is perfect. Love your nod to Deepti, and man oh man, did she design an awesome set, or what?!! Missing you!

I can see all the elements of Deepti’s card, Anita, and it amazes me how you put them all together in a totally different way, with a different feel. It is really CAS and lovely.
PS: At least get around to my anniversary blog. There’s a give away I don’t want you to miss a chance at.

Really love your card. So simple and beautiful. Your flowers are lovely, and that diagonal line with the white and black alternating stripes is really a wonderful divider.

ADORE your white space version of Deepti’s card! So cool how you adopted the elements from Deepti’s card into your own! Beautifully clean & simple! Love the wee strip of striped DP and the lovely movement that it creates!

Sure do hope that you have managed to kick that cold monster to the curb! One would think that “they” (being the cold monster buggers) should know that we all have craft schtuff to get done! Miss you tons pal!
