A New Challenge At Time Out – #94 – Home Sweet Home – A Shaker Leaf

Hello … bonjour!  Our wonderful new challenge starts at Time Out this morning … this fortnight, we have a Home Sweet Home photo to inspire you that’s eclectic and coastal-halloween in style (below).  Here’s where I went with it …

Time Out

… and here’s our delicious inspiration picture …

I focused on the clear vase and the rich tones of orange and brown against all that white … and came up with a shaker.  The background is a smooshed and splattered piece of watercolour paper, the window was cut with an MFT peek a boo die, extended so that the Concord & 9th leaf would sit nicely on it, and the sentiment is from Uniko.  How about a detail view of all that shaker goodness …

What grabs your attention in our Home Sweet Home photo … the colours and balance, as it did mine … those shimmery pumpkins … the ocean life … or something else?  Whichever way you’re inspired, we’d love to see what you create in our gallery.   This time round we’re sponsored by STAMPlorations … our winner will receive a $10 GC … as well as the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a whole host of delicious ideas from our brilliant DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Janet from Swanlady Impressions (who has a fantastic collection of delicious CAS cards on her blog to enjoy … do go and visit … and say hello while you’re there!).

I’m playing along at ….

CAS Watercolour – Fall Leaves … Happy 1st Birthday, Loll, Bonnie and the DT … and many more!

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour – Anything Goes … with the option of Gold (in the sequins).

Exquisite in detail and design. You really rocked this inspiration board…the shaker is the ideal nod to the square-ish vase and your spatter is to die for…perfection in A2 form. You definitely used your unfailing taste and style to make this gorgeous example.

Hi Anita, thanks for your warm welcome! I am sure happy to be back in blog land, but not really happy about being back at work….Europe was simply wonderful and I so enjoyed my nature hikes (even if my knees did not…). Too bad you are not on Instagram – I posted a lot of pictures there. But maybe I make a blog post about my travels….
What a stunning card – so absolutely perfect for the challenge! It has winner written all over it! I now think I have to play along. Perhaps I can come up with something, although I have some doubts about coming even close to your little masterpiece…

Delicious photo inspiration indeed….what a great interpretation you have created. Fun idea to make the shaker and use the vase and glass as one of your interpretations. Love the crisp white against that wonderful smooshed background. The movement of the shaker suggests water too and I love it! x

Oh, Anita, you have outdone yourself! What a gem you have created there! Wonderfully artsy and still clean and simple! Love the warm fall colors! I just read that you extended the die – OMG, that must have been tricky and fiddly! This card is such an eye candy and should win all the challenges!
