Time Out DT #26, Less Is More #213, Addicted To CAS #58, Virginia’s View #13, Winnie & Walter JITW – March

How would you like to join in a celebration?  Yes?  Oh good … we’re celebrating our First Birthday at Time Out this fortnight … yay … Happy Birthday, Time Out!  Congratulations to Sandie and Nonni on such a brilliant challenge and a fantastic year … and thanks so much for the chance to design with such an awesome team!  May there be many more successful years ahead!  There’s more about the celebration further down (there are prizes!) … but before you rush off to check it out, let me tell you about our latest challenge … it’s a Home Sweet Home (photo) one … here’s my card …

Time Out DT 26, LIM 213, ATCAS 58, VV 13, W&W JITWTime Outand here’s our cool inspiration …

Frame Collage Funky Bright Home Decor Upcycled Vintage Frames Hollywood Regency Apartment Decor Quirky DecorI was inspired by the angular shapes and bright colours, so sponged similar shades of Distress Inks through a Crafter’s Workshop stencil onto a masked white card panel … aiming to mimic (sort of) those vibrant frames.  I chose the Winnie & Walter ‘happy’ Cutaway because of the tail on the ‘y’ … it put me in mind of the overhanging branches in the photo.  It was cut into the stencilled panel, the ‘happy’ was coloured with an alcohol marker, coated with Wink of Stella and clear embossed to give it some shimmery shine … and was then adhered back into place (with a card backing).  I stamped and embossed the WPlus9 ‘birthday’, added some shiny black dots and popped the finished panel up on foam tape on the base card.

As I mentioned earlier, to celebrate our First Birthday at Time Out, we have prizes up for grabs for this fortnight’s challenge … the winner, as chosen by the DT will receive a £15 Uniko Gift Voucher and a $15 STAMPlorations Gift Voucher!  In addition, there will be a random draw and the winner will receive a celebration/birthday stencil pack from STAMPlorations!   So why not let our Home Sweet Home photo inspire you … choose all or any of it to focus on, let those creative juices flow … and come play along with us at Time Out, we’d love to have you!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of delicious inspiration from our amazing DT and our fabulous Guest Designer, Mandi … see you in the gallery!

I’m joining in with …

Less Is More – This Makes Me Happy (rainbow colours and all that white space … blissful!)

Addicted To CAS – Distress (sponged Distress Inks)

Virginia’s View – All Things Embossed (die cut and stamped sentiments.  It’s also the first anniversary of Virginia’s View … Happy Birthday, Virginia … congratulations on a great year!)

Winnie & Walter – Join In To Win (that yummy happy)

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Your awesome card is a great take on the inspiration photo! I love those colors, so vibrant and fun and I love that you chose your die cut “happy” for the loopy “Y” to mimic the branches, so cool looking. Don’t think I would have thought to do that, but that is what separates the girls from the women. lol I think this is a fabulous birthday card Anita! Hugs, Brenda

It is a wonderfully happy card. Love the way you’ve interpreted your inspiration colors & shapes, and the curly Y on the sentiment, really does mimic the shape of the drooping branches. These bright, hot colors are so well suited to the stencil design, and I love the way you’ve done the ombre effect where the colors change mid block. Great color, great design! TFS 7 Hugs
