CASology #42 (Care), Addicted to CAS #12 (Rainbow)

At CASology this week, the cue card is ‘Care’ … create some happy mail for someone … and at Addicted to CAS, Christine has chosen the code word ‘Rainbow’.  In my mind, these two themes were made for each other, so here’s a combined card based around a Winnie the Pooh quote …

CASology 42, ATCAS 12

I wanted to see if I could create the illusion of translucence so cut the balloons in vellum (Cricut Stretch the Imagination) and coloured them with Promarkers.  They’re attached with Invisidots for Vellum (no worries about sticky stuff showing through), have hand drawn strings and bows, and are bobbing about above a double embossed line.  The sentiment was done on the computer using Sacremento font.  Pooh was right … it’s practically impossible to be uncheered with a balloon!

Hope you’re having a Happy Sunday … thanks so much for coming by, I do appreciate your visits and comments!  Anita 🙂

This card is just so fun and perfect. So interesting to read how you did it, too. Those vellum balloons are so pretty and realistic, and make such a statement all lined up like that. I am blown away by all those hand drawn strings and bows–you must have a very steady hand! Thanks so much for your birthday wishes, too.

Oh, sigh! I just love this rainbow, but you knew that I would, right? I never thought to colour vellum, but it works and so well for this – some of the darker edges give the balloons visual dimension! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CASology this week!

Anita, you are such an artist and so amazing. Wow…what you did with these balloons is genius and extremely clever. Your hand drawn strings and bows are so “Pooh” too. I love everything about your card.

Hello! I love this card so much – I’m planning a first birthday party for my son with a balloon theme and would love to purchase this to frame at his party. I was unable to find any other way to contact you about it, so I do hope you’ll receive this comment and be able to reply. Thank you so much!
