Time Out DT #22, SSS Monday 5/1, SSS Wednesday 7/1,

It’s our first challenge of the year at Time Out … and it’s a special one … just keep reading as there’s more on that below!  Our theme this fortnight is Home Sweet Home … and we’re inspired by a rather inviting sofa and some funky wall art.  I went really obvious and lifted focussed on the wall art for my card …

Time Out DT 22Time OutHere’s the inspiration …  Say Hello: Perk up your home with a friendly welcome sign. For an added boost, choose a bright, funky color. Source: Instagram user decorameSee what I mean about what I lifted?!  As you know, I don’t use a lot of DP … but as soon as I saw the inspiration photo, I knew there was just the perfect piece for my card in my stash!  It came from BABE Geri when we were at the Lake House … thanks so much, my friend!  I sliced a piece up, making sure there were different grains and colours in the ‘wood’, and adhered it flat to the card base.  The ‘hello’ is from Mama Elephant, cut six times in white and stacked together.  I sponged the top layer with ombré reds and coated it with glossy accents, before adhering it slightly offset from the white … the outline helps the colour to stand out better against the reddish hued background.

Now, here’s the bit you’ve been waiting for … why this challenge is so special … it’s a joint one with Uniko Studio!  So, not only do you have the wonderfully talented Time Out DT and our GD (the awesome Chrissie from Simply One Of A Kind … yes, really … she of Less Is More fame!) to inspire you, there are also cards from the fabulous Uniko DT too!  Not only that, but there are prizes up for grabs … look …

  • Just by linking up your photo-inspired card to Time Out, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a £15 Gift Voucher from Uniko!
  • You get a second chance to win a £15 Gift Voucher by heading over to the Uniko blog and leaving a comment there!

In addition to these goodies, as usual, the overall winner (as voted by the DT) wins the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge!  So, why wait … let those creative juices flow and see where your imagination takes you!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

SSS Monday – Old and New  (the DP is new, the ME hello is not!)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (Wood DP)

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

I love it!! I think we all jumped on the ‘hello’ bandwagon with this photo, it was too awesome not to include! I really love the way you cut your wood paper on the angles (very clever) and all those layers for the ‘hello’ really make it stand out. I’m off to see what the Uniko DT came up with and I’m sure to be blown away!!!

Seriously, this is a “wowzer” card. Really like how you’ve popped up the sentiment and that it shows the white from underneath. Dynamic design! Love it!!! Miss you!!!!! Bisous, bisous!!!

I’d love to have that wall hanging, except for the giant hello. I also love your take on it. You cut and layered both the wood and sentiment perfectly, Anita.
