Time Out DT #81, AAA Cards #87, Happy Little Stampers Watercolour – April, SSS Work It Wednesday – March

Hello … bonjour!  Our next fabulous challenge at Time Out starts today … this fortnight, we have a wonderfully light and airy, almost graphic ‘Home Sweet Home’ photo to inspire you (below) … here’s my take on it …

Time Out… and here’s the glorious inspiration …

I stamped some of the delightful butterflies from Stamplorations’ Winged Things – The Bee’s Knees in a swoosh shape onto a watercolour card panel.  They were watercoloured with Distress Inks and I added in some doodling with a black fineliner.  The sentiment is also from Stamplorations (Fond Expressions), selectively inked to leave off the flourishes each side of the prayers … they didn’t seem to fit with the design/feel of the card.  I finished off with some tiny dots of Enamel Accents to accentuate the swoosh … picked out from the dots on the clock face in the inspiration picture.

There’s so much to see in this photo … the graphic grey background, the cool round clock, the kaleidoscope of butterflies (in a heart shape?), all those bright reds and pinks, the touch of silver and black … where will your creative imagination go with it?  We’d love to see!   This time round we’re sponsored by STAMPlorations … our winner will receive a $15 GC, as well as the chance to guest design with us in a future challenge.  In addition, there’ll be a random draw for a stamp set, die or stencil from STAMPlorations that the DT used (we each had one to play with, thanks to our team mate and owner of STAMPlorations, Shery).  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with a whole host of delicious ideas from our wonderful DT and from our talented Guest Designer Michelle from The Craft Cradle.  Do check out Michelle’s blog … there are so many wonderful things to see … and there’s a tutorial for her Time Out card !

I’m playing along at …

Fabulous flurry of fantastic fun. (Today, I’m into alliteration & can’t seem to help myself.) Seriously, though, that sweet swoosh if these glorious critters just makes my heart happy. And those precious little dots are like other teensy escorts showing the butterflies the way. Truly beautifully done and so indicative of your inventive, fertile imagination.

Oh, how lovely your butterflies, carrying prayers on their wings! I have this set but my issues with water-colouring (yes…still unresolved…still practicing *grin*) see them not receiving as much attention as they deserve. Having the accompanying dies heading my way, however, will make a difference (I hope!). After seeing your card, I’m placing my set at arm’s reach on my crafting table…perhaps your inspiration will spark a *ping*….
