A Pretty Posy!

Hello … bonjour!  It’s been a while since I just played along with a few challenges … actually it’s been a looooong time, I checked … all the way back to August last year.  There’ve been DT cards here in the meantime and they’re always heaps of fun to do, but this evening, I just played … it was quite liberating!  Here’s the pretty posy I came up with, inspired by a few challenges …

This one layer card was stamped with some of my favourite Papertrey stylised blooms from a set called One Big Happy, which I think was a giveaway during a Stamp-a-faire a few years ago and is no longer available.  I paired it with a Papertrey favourite sentiment set, Birthday Cheer.  My colours of navy and yellow (with a neutral for the leaves) were inspired by the 8th birthday celebration at Less Is More … congratulations, ladies, here’s to many more successful years!  Everything was simply stamped (after masking where necessary) and I added white dots on the petals and black dots on the flower centres.  I thought of adding a sequin/gem/jewel drop or three but came to the conclusion that these lovely bold colours are enough to carry the design as it is.  Voilà!

Here’s where I’m playing along …

AAA Cards – One Layer … without the love option

Less Is More – Navy and Yellow … if the addition of a neutral isn’t ok, please feel free to delete

Papertrey – Laurie’s Fabulous Favourites … One Big Happy is mine this week.

Short and sweet tonight … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Wouldn’t it be lovely to see flowers in your pretty navy blue growing in our flower beds?! Such pretty blooms, and I do like how you’ve added just the right little bit extra to them. I do like the gray, in-the-background leaves too. They’re there, but you’ve rightly let the blossoms take center stage. Just waiting for Spring here. No sign of that in sight today; 4 more inches of snow instead! Sending love your way dear friend. xoxo

Aaah ! Bises x
PS: Pour l’instant je ne vois pas ta carte dans la galerie LIM, est-ce un oubli ?

Playing just for the fun of it really is the best, isn’t it?!! Your sweet little card is CAS perfection Anita!! I have that same stamp set somewhere and it hasn’t seen the light of day for ages, but I’m loving what you did with it! Love the blue and gray color combination and your sentiment is nestled so nicely into the little bouquet…LOVE it!! :0)

The design of the big bold blooms with the larger than life sentiment balances the card beautifully, Anita, and of course there’s that wonderful linen texture. I love it!

May I call you the queen of one layer cards? And elegance. The color combination of navy and yellow is one of my favorites, as is turquoise and orange. Hope Valentine’s Day is special for you, for me just another day for people to make money selling flowers and candy. When we first got married I coerced Cal into buying me something and I didn’t do it again – I have everything I need, especially him. 🙂 Barb

I hear you, I have a definite lack of ‘play time’ but for some reason my husband insists that I go to work… I don’t know why, it seems unfair really, when I could be crafting all day lol. Love your gorgeous flowers, I coloured some blue flowers myself yesterday, it’s not my ‘go to’ colour but it is so relaxing on a card design.

You make my heart happy seeing you playing in challenges just for fun, Anita! It’s been too long and I hope you can do more of it soon! You always nail the challenges when you play and I think I already saw this awesome creation in the winners gallery at one of these challenges! You haven’t lost your winning touch! You’ve created a stunner of a CASlicious card and now I wish flowers really DID come in navy blue with yellow centers! Hmm, I’ll bet they do … somewhere in the world! LYAMYMSA! Enjoy the weekend!! I know exactly what you mean about finding (or in my case, not finding) time to play in challenges or play ‘just for fun’, so I’m thrilled you’ve carved out opportunity to do so! Your navy/yellow posies are striking…a gorgeous card in every way!

This is so pretty with the grey leaves – I have to remember that for the future….I enjoy it too, to just make a card for the sheer fun of it and not for a DT post. It’s just different. I should remember that, next time I want to join a DT….
