A Just For Fun Card!

Hello … bonjour!  D’you ever find you just have to be creative or you’ll burst?  I had a day like that at the weekend … and made a few cards … one of which I’m sharing here (rather quickly … I’m late and Mr Linky will be closing doors in less than an hour)!  Want to see?

eh-mix-up-c9-1-9-share-joy-52-cfc-156-sssm-12-9-hls-dies-septemberQuick, clean and simple … some Concord & 9th die cut flowers cut from a previously smooshed panel, each attached to the card just in the middle to allow the petals to curve upwards … topped with some sequins and enamel accents.  The ‘love &’ sentiment is from Concord & 9th, the popped up ‘hugs’ is from Ellen Hutson … and I added a slender strip of the smooshed panel down the edge as a finishing touch.

Those delicious blooms and the ‘hugs’ are courtesy of my lovely card making, non blogging, met through blogworld friend Judith in the UK … who comes for a play day each summer when she visits family who live nearby (how’s that for a wonderful coincidence?).  This last visit, Judith brought all kinds of delicious dies for us to play with, including these flowers … and left her (NBUS!) EH All Inside stamp/die set to have a holiday, though I had it working hard before it finally flew home via La Poste!  Thanks so much, mon amie … it was great to see you!

I’m playing along at …

Ellen Hutson Mix Up – With Concord & 9th … first time playing and I’ve left it sooo late to post!

TE Share Joy – Sketch/Keep It Clean & Simple … I went CAS

CAS-ual Fridays – Dimension and Bling … both in my flowers

SSS Monday – At The Movies … daisy like blooms, so Driving Miss Daisy!

See you all soon … lots of lovely visiting to do still!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

More MFT Summer Camp … and Other Fun Stuff

Hello … bonjour!  I’m back with the remaining two cards I made over the weekend … still keeping it short and sweet.  First up, a gentle breath of nature …

MFT Summer Camp - Watercolour, MFT Sketch 285, TESJ 40A masked and splattered-with-three-greens panel, divided with slender strips of black, topped with a watercoloured palm leaf from MFT and an embossed sentiment from SSS.  Some black enamel dots finished it off.

In contrast, here’s my fun and bright second offering …

MFT Summer Camp - Shaker & Slider 1, AAA 67, HLS Dies - June, VV 22, SSSW 15-6

A pair of tropical love birds (MFT), coloured with Promarkers and Wink of Stella’d, their eyes meeting as they walk toward one another along the ‘pebble’ scattered rainbow shaker beach (it’s the tropics, there’s bound to be a rainbow beach!).  You can see how taken they are with each other from the Wink of Stella’d and Glossy Accented hearts floating up between them.   Madame Love Bird certainly seems to be giving Monsieur Love Bird the eye!  It doesn’t stop there … I caught them leaning forward to steal a kiss …

MFT Summer Camp - Shaker & Slider 2, AAA 67, HLS Dies - June, VV 22, SSSW 15-6Ahhh … true love … yep, birds of a feather (MFT).  They do seem to be a little reserved as they’re looking down rather than gazing into one another’s eyes.  Could be it’s because they’re in public (would you smooch in front of all these people?) … or maybe they’re just watching where they put their feet with all those pebbles around … they don’t want to twist a claw!

MFT Summer Camp - Shaker & Slider Detail, AAA 67, HLS Dies - June, VV 22, SSSW 15-6My leafy green number is destined for …

MFT Summer Camp … and Other Fun!

Hello … bonjour … hope your weekend was a fabulous one!  I had some playtime, got creative and made a few cards … two to share here and two for later (maybe tomorrow, depending on the Time Eating Monster) … I’ll keep it short and sweet!  Here’s the first … a sweet little pretty …

MFT Summer Camp - Glitter, MFT Colour 47, CAS Mix Up - June, TESJ 40Randomly stamped leaves and blooms (MFT), with the flower heads coated with sugary clear glitter (seen better zoomed in!), a little fine black pen doodling, a die cut hello (SSS) stacked on fun foam, and a stamped supplementary sentiment (WPlus9).   I was inspired by this card from Mayuri … it’s bolder, more dramatic and she used a different technique, but you can see how it prompted me.

Here’s the second … a rather dapper chap …

MFT Summer Camp - Die Cutting, HLS Dies - June, PP 300, SSSW 15-6A lightly sponged card panel mounted over black, a bird of paradise (MFT) coloured with Promarkers and perched atop a Winnie & Walter die cut (both on foam), and some tiny supplementary sentiments (SSS) nestled into the word.

My floral number is heading to …

MFT Summer Camp – Glitzy Glitter … Day 1 of 5 … first badge!

MFT Color Challenge – In The Buff, Coral Crush, Gumdrop Green, Blueberry … my closest

CAS Mix Up – June – Stamping, Die Cuts + Choice …. mine’s the texture-y glitter and doodling

Muse #164, TE Share Joy #34, Winnie & Walter Rerun #10, Winnie & Walter JITW, STAMPlorations CAS – May

Hello … bonjour!  Happy Mother’s Day to everyone celebrating in the USA and Australia!  I’m popping in with a card that feels a bit different for me … not sure how it came from my fingers, but it was fun making it happen …

Muse 164, TE Share Joy 34, W&W Rerun 10, W&W JITW, STAMPlorations CAS - MaynullI started with a panel of watercolour card, made a paper mask to place where the vase was going to be, and stamped the blossom-y leafy sprigs three times, using a Molotow pen to mask them where needed.  First time with the Molotow … needed to be really gentle taking it off … there were one or two spots that ended up a smidge raw!  The paper mask was removed, the vase was stamped, I used Zigs to do some loose layered watercolouring and topped off the sprigs with some Wink of Stella.  All the stamps are courtesy of Winnie & Walter.  The panel was adhered to a card base, I added a slender strip of colour along the edge and finished off with a STAMPlorations sentiment.

I’m playing along with …

Muse – Michele’s gorgeous card is below (voila, Michele, see you in the gallery!!)

TE Share Joy – Sketch/Inspiration … I went with the photo

Winnie & Walter Rerun – In Bloom: Addie’s Garden … blossoms/leaves

Winnie & Walter – Join In To Win

STAMPlorations CAS – Anything Goes … without the option of Magenta

That’s it from me for now … see you Thursday for a top up over at Time Out … have a great week!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

The Challenge #66 – Featured Designer, CAS(E) this Sketch #165, TE Share Joy #28, Little Tangles #66, Seize The Birthday – 24 March

Hello … bonjour … hope you had a Blessed and Joyful Easter!  I’m here for the last time today as Featured Designer over at The Challenge … it’s been so much fun and an honour to have joined Lesley and the DT for the whole month … such amazing talent in this fabulous group of crafters … and such wonderful, inspirational challenge photo’s!   Thanks so much for having me, ladies, it’s been a delight!   We have a masculine theme this time round (the fabulous picture is below) … here’s my take on it …

The Challenge GD 4The Challenge #66 - March Week 4 - MasculineMy stash is nautically challenged … but I was so taken with the images and those delicious blue hues that I wanted to capture the overall sense of the ocean!  I used Papertrey‘s Ombre Builders to create the ombré waves across a white card panel, added a stacked SSS ‘smile’ die cut so it would bob about on them (as a life saver would!) and adhered a flag shaped secondary sentiment (also SSS) alongside.  The miniscule pops of red in the die cut and at the end of the flag mimic the edge of the wavy navy pillow in the photo!  I sponged the edges of a card base with Distress Ink and popped the panel up on craft foam over it … voilà!

There are so many different elements to this gorgeous inspiration photo … what takes your eye?  You can choose to focus on any or all of them … or just use it as a prompt to spark your creative imagination.  We’d love to see what you come up with … hope you’ll join us in the gallery!  All the details are over at The Challenge … along with plenty of wonderful ideas from the fabulous DT!

I’m playing along with …

CAS(E) this Sketch – see below … such a cool sketch!

TE Share Joy – Clean and Simple

Little Tangles – Ombré

Seize The Birthday – Water

After being up to my eyes in alligators for a while, I’ve at last begun to make my way around blogland … I’ve missed you all … and all the gorgeous cards you’ve been making!  What a wonderful voyage of discovery awaits … see you soon!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASEplorations With The STAMPlorations Girls – February Guest Designer, AAA Cards #57, SSS Wednesday – 27 January, SSS Work It Wednesday – January, TE Share Joy #20, Uniko #28

Hello … bonjour … happy Monday to you!  I’m thrilled and delighted today to be joining the STAMPlorations Girls as their CASEplorations Guest Designer for February … what an honour to be CASEd by such a talented group of designers!  One of my previous cards was chosen as the CASE-ee … this one from January last year …

CASEplorationsFebruary2016… and here’s my CASE …

CASEplorations GD1 - February 16 I focused on the colour scheme, heart shaped images, some negative die cut space and platinum (or should that be platin-yum!) embossing powder.  The changes were the layout, the popped up and interlocking die cut shapes and the heat embossed trim top and bottom.   The larger hearts are from SSS … they were ombré stamped, die cut and had the little hearts (also SSS) cut into them.  Once I’d decided on the dancing line layout, I used the large die again to cut spaces into each heart (except the last), so that they ended up interlocked, a bit like a jigsaw puzzle.  I masked, Versamarked and heat embossed the strips top and bottom of the card base, and stamped and embossed the STAMPlorations sentiment.  The dancing hearts were popped up on foam tape on the card base and I finished off with a coat or three of Wink of Stella to make them all shimmery … you can see it best on the first one.

So … feel like doing a little CASE-ing?  I’d love to see your take on my card!  Pop on over to the STAMPlorations blog for all the details (including prizes!) … and for a heap of inspiration from the Design Team’s CASEs.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

SSS Work It Wednesday – Something New … my STAMPlorations sentiment

My Favorite Things Sketch #261, Colour Q #322, TE Share Joy Challenge #16, SSS Wednesday – 30 December

Hello … bonjour!  Have you had a little space for some card making?  I have … it’s been soooo nice just playing … especially with a new goodie or two!  Here’s a card that was made on Friday, which has been waiting patiently to get into the limelight …

MFT Sketch 261, CQ 322, TE Share Joy 16, SSSW 30-12I die cut the MFT leaves from gold foil, card and vellum and fixed them onto a MFT pierced rectangle (from the Lake House stash … thanks Bev, I think!), leaving the card and vellum ones a little free towards the top.   The PTI sentiment was white embossed on black and was adhered over a slip of polka dot vellum (don’t you just love when the polka dots hide the glue?).  I lightly sponged the card base with a halo of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, mounted the finished leaf panel on foam tape over the top and scattered on a sequin or five.

My card was inspired by …

My Favorite Things Sketch – see below

Colour Q – Basic Black, Coastal Cabana (my closest colour … it’s closer IRL!), Gold, White

TE Share Joy Challenge – Keep It Clean and Simple (still no none Christmassy TD goodies!)

SSS Wednesday – Party (well, it is the big day!)

Hope your weekend has been wonderful!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #235, TE Share Joy Challenge #16, SSSW – 30 December

Hello … bonjour!  Hope you had a magical new year celebration … and that 2016 has started wonderfully!  I have a little floral number to share with you this evening …

PTI MIM 235, Share Joy 16, SSSW 30-12Some cards are shy … they’re reluctant to be made … they need encouragement to come out of their shell … even when they’re CAS … this is one of those cards!  The first version hit the paper bin after my ‘invisible join’ in the stem (to make it a long one) turned out to be eyecatchingly not invisible.  The second version was finished and ready for it’s photo shoot when a fully loaded, wandering watercolour brush danced rather energetically across it … ooops (that wasn’t my exact word, but I’ll leave that to your imagination!).  So, here’s my third attempt … a Papertrey bloom stamped onto a white card panel, with colour detail on the flower head, leaves and stem added with Promarkers … and a little delicate Wink of Stella pollen-like splatter sprinkled over the top.  The sentiment is from SSS.  The panel was trimmed and popped up onto the card base over a slender strip of striped DP.   Phew … voilà … made it!

I’m playing along with …

TE Share Joy Challenge – Keep It CAS (sorry, no TE goodies … mine are Christmassy ones!)

SSS Wednesday – Party (a birthday’s a great excuse to party!)
